Question white label promo vs. test pressing

hi,

what's the difference between a test pressing of a 12" single and a white label promo of a 12" single? how can one see the difference?

i recently got a test pressing of peel sessions (with a test pressing of the sleeve, apparently) and a white label promo of cherub rock. i must say, except for the artwork that is included with peel sessions, i see no difference.

anyone can help me out here? thanks.

with the hut pressings it's just about impossible to say.

they both look identical, i just assume that they're all white label promos really although i probably use the two terms interchangably.

in short, afaik there's no way to be sure

what about the test print of the sleeve that came with peel sessions? you think that is part of all white label promos? or just the test pressings?

the few i have that i know for 100% certainty that are test pressings, never came with artwork and only the Hut house sleeve- if that helps at all. I have an I am One test pressing though that i've seen labelled as a white label promo (it has no art sleeve), so i've asked the same question myself many times.

white label promos typically come in record label sleeves.

true test pressings come in unmarked sleeves with usually just hand-writing on them, no printing what-so-ever.

Hut, however, likes to cause confusion...because I have seen similar sleeves (Standard Hut issue either black or blue) for both test pressings and white label promos.

Even vinyl etchings that match the standard release copies, have been found on both white label promos and test pressings.
