Default Machina II Promo on Ebay

This is great. The disc inserts come complete with spelling errors and SPFC notes. . . direct from Virgin!

4 separate listings

This guy should do his homework:

"As there was no tracklist *******d with the release, song titles are given as their standard name, and some were given additional descriptive comments in parentheses by SPFC. A press release issued later *******s slightly different versions of the song titles, which are given in quotes as appropriate." - SPFC

I wonder what it will sell for...

The virgin one had track listings. That looks similar to the real ones.

I think its legit.

But more importantly, the guy is an absolute fucktard for selling them seperately, especially when someone has to pay $400 to get them all.

Who knows maybe some fool will try to win all 4....

Question

as i understand it from this thread, there are supposedly two different sets of promos, one from the US and one from the UK. these look identical to the photo of one of the UK promos that Smashing Turnip posted. however, luciddream33 makes a good point regarding the tracklist - why would they have used the titles as originally copied by Agnew with his notes, rather than how they appeared in the press release and on the website? so, what evidence is there that the UK sets are legitimate? the rip in circulation came from one of the US sets, correct?

Thank you tcm, those notes were an immediate redflag. Could some one please edumakate as to what is in fact legit regarding Machina II. Pretty much all I have to go on right now is the SPFC since the SPfreaks site wasn't loading correctly for me today (and as I understand it, it is not complete). I have picked up bits and pieces here and there from these forums, put nothing that's stuck with me.

Dead, which are the real ones you are talking about? The Q101 CDs?

Davin, I agree with you as far as this guy trying to sell them seperately, I remember someone else doing this with the Q101 CDs 1-2 years ago on ebay. Oh well. It's nothing I need to feel complete.

I was looking through the old threads and didn't see anything to explain why SPFC says this
"The only CD release of this album was made by Q101, which was sourced from their vinyl copy. There are NO official CD releases,AND NO OFFICIAL PROMOS . Anything you see on ebay is either a Q101 release, a burned CDR, or a bootleg sourced from the Q101 release or MP3s."

This was also pretty interesting

Is This Copy Of Machina II Pressed By Virgin?

Thank you Screamin' Wild. I don't mind being corrected if I'm wrong, but that is the exact same information I consulted before posting this thread.

I raised those points out of my own curiosity, as they hadn't been mentioned in this thread

Question

Why in the hell the MII Virgin Promo would be separated in EPs?

I thought that the MII promo was sent to Virgin Europe some time after the MAchina (one) release. They didn't want it so BC gets mad and release the complete thing in 3 EP and 1 LP. So there wasn't EPs, LP for Virgin or I'm wrong???

In another thread (maybe the one about the real Machina II on eBay) someone who could know (I think) explained how the vinyls came first. Then these promo cd's were made and offered to Virgin. Then Virgin refused.

This scenario also makes it possible that the "SPFC" quotes were sourced from these promos.

This scenario also explains why the Virgin promo is separated in 4 cds. Because they were sourced from the 5 vinyls (2x12" + 3x10").

My apologies. I obviously wanted to say this: these are fakes, do not bid on them! Or you'll be a fool and a loser forever.

Unhappy

By "real ones" I mean't the official Virgin promo.

And I don't remember if the Virgin promo used Agnew's notes or not but it's possible. It sure didn't use the press release "version electrique" whatever (not that I remember). I had a scan of one of the real EPs but I lost it.

This is false info, there are Virgin in-house promos.

Thumbs up

Too many people asking different questions in here, but the Virgin promo is 4 discs, vinyl sourced from Tigershorty's (o-board) copy of M2 and is still the best transfer in circulation. It was used for the 320k mp3s on the o-site and I don't know how or why Virgin got it but they did. I think they're CDRs but they have the fancy silk screening type printing on the discs.

This person is selling the REAL virgin promo's.

http://search.ebay.co.uk/_W0QQfgtpZ1...sassZreikiange

There are two spelling mistakes on the U.K promo's; Slow dawn is written as 'slow down' and le deux machina is written as track 34 instead of track 24.
