i've already gotten tickets to this god forsaken tour before it was revealed that it was just a proving ground for the new album billy has planned so i guess i've got to go to this. i'm still holding out hope that the 2 day shows will have superior songs than last nights nonsense but past that, i really don't know anymore. i've spent the last year or so, probably my whole career as a fan really, defending this band to my friends, people i meet in discussion, and even to some of its own fans but i'm growing really weary of it. i'll probably go either the CAIC route or just not pay attention to the band at all.

I voted that I would not support him again...because that is how I feel right now. However, if he released the Chicago Songs or the extra Zwan material I would probably buy that.

I've been feeling this way for some time, I've seen Billy on the solo tour and once with SP2. I don't think I would spend more money to see him live unless it was something unique.

I think you need to elaborate whether this is due to hypocracy or just being cheap.

I downloaded TFE and Zeitgeist and determined that they weren't worth my money. That said, you're one of the biggest fucking idiot corgan-whores on this board, so fuck off.

Whoa, some Pumpkins fans are just total douches. The whole idea of "I'm a customer, give me what I want!!!" is basically what Hillary Duff is for; music made to maximize profit. Billy creates what he wants -like a true artist- and if people like it, great...if they don't, that's okay too.

I like G.L.O.W. and Superchrist, and things are looking really interesting with As Rome Burns...so I'm looking forward to what Billy has next.

The last time I paid for anything SP related was when I bought TFE like a month after it came out and I still hadn't bothered to hear any of it.

I kinda accidentally stole MSOTS, long story.

I already bought 2 tickets to each night of the Kansas City shows. There's a lot of these 'special shows' between now and then, so I will be monitoring the sets closely. If it looks like they've completely abandoned their fans by playing repetitive shows full of songs I am not interested in, I am not going. That way I won't be tempted to buy a beer or do anything else that might accidentally give more money to this fucking imbecile.

I'm not gonna reply to the first part, because it is retarded beyond belief.

That said, me being a corgan-whore is probably the reason why i was the first one on this board to say that zeitgeist is disappointing, you douche.

I still like Billy overall even if he doesn't care about the fans. I don't listen to SP in order to form a fucking relationship with the man, who cares about that. Also, kind of hilarious that facetious stage banter is just now becoming a reason to dislike Billy.

I agree with this guy.

You netphoria people are such a load of fucking whiny, annoying, pedantic complainers, and I find it hilarious that you manage to rack up 2000+ posts on a message board about a band that you claim to hate. And when I say hilarious, I mean pathetic.

What is wrong with the Anniversary tour? Do you REALLY want a GREATEST HITS tour? Is that what your definition of "artistic integrity" would be? The 20th Anniversary tour should be about PAST, PRESENT, FUTURE. And here's a little breakdown: The Nov. 1st show contained 9 "classic" (past) Pumpkin songs, 4 "Zeitgeist + AG" (current) Pumpkins songs, and 9 "future" songs such as Owata, ARB, etc. WHAT IS WRONG IN THAT DISTRIBUTION? Not to mention that the "past" songs are all fucking GREAT CHOICES (Mayo, Siva, Disarm, Speed Kills, etc.) and the new songs such as Owata and Sounds of Silence are BADASS, even according to most of you netphorians.

So despite your unreserved hate for Billy Corgan and for the Smashing Pumpkins, you continue to come here and have your circle-jerk parties of self-importance, stating "I, Douchebag #1, hereby swear to never support Billy Corgan financially ever again", as if ANYBODY except your sycophantic netphorian buddies actually gives a flying two-faced fuck about what you do or don't do with your money, and as if your two-dozen-strong list of Billy Corgan denouncements will somehow get Corgan's attention and he'll say "Hey, a few cockholes who have gained excellent social status on a MESSAGE BOARD don't like the direction I'm going in, so I'm going to listen to this faceless mob of jeering naysayers and start playing only BWBW, Tonight Tonight, and Ava Adore at every show, wearing my Zero shirt all the while, since these message-board denizens have obviously accrued such a fine-tuned ability to judge, create, and approve or disapprove of music."

I agree that Zeitgeist was probably the Pumpkins' weakest effort. But certain songs like Tarantula, 7SOB, That's the Way, Neverlost are excellent additions to SP's catalogue, and they have only been getting better. Zeitgeist sounded like an extension of TFE, because Billy hadn't been with a BAND prior to writing it. Now that he's been with a band, it is clear with the increasing quality of subsequent releases (AG, SC, GLOW, and now OWATA + ARB etc.) that it takes TIME to get into the groove of things, but he is SURELY getting in the groove. But none of you see that. You can somehow SIMULTANEOUSLY praise the new songs in one thread, and then absolutely rip Billy Corgan to shreds in the next thread.

I mean, Netphoria is somewhat legendary in it's negativity, but you fucking lot are the REAL DEAL; it ain't no legend, you really are just as sad, judgmental, and self-important as I had always heard, and THEN some.

APPEASE THE NETPHORIAN GODS. I suppose that should be Billy's modus operandi, although it is clear that it certainly would NOT be an attainable goal.

Please, if Bill came out with a clothing line, you'd be the first dumbfuck making sure you got each color, horizontal/vertical striped, cartoon character, etc version available.
