Question Hub down?

Is the SP hub down today? I'm not having problems connecting to other hubs so I'm guessing it is.

No sir. The hub is up and fully functional. We moved it from my computer back to Scott's computer earlier today, but everything is up and running just fine now. . .

You always do one fine job of running the hub while he is away, Brandon http://www.netphoria.org/wwwboard/smile.gif and welcome back scott http://www.netphoria.org/wwwboard/smile.gif

That's awfully strange http://www.netphoria.org/wwwboard/frown.gif The address hasn't changed or anything has it? I'm able to connect other hubs but not my favorite one!

Ideas on what it could be? I'm using DC++ and I haven't changed any of the settings so I'm kind of at a loss.

You could always try pinging and running a tracert. Maybe a router is down between you and the hub.

Thanks for the advice. Could you email me and explain how one would go about doing that or direct me to a site that would explain how. My address is in my profile.

Thanks! http://www.netphoria.org/wwwboard/smile.gif

go to Start>Run>and type "cmd" for Win2000 or "command" for Win98/ME (dunno bout XP)

when the ugly black window pops up, type "ping tsphub.dyndns.org". you should get a reply with 4 reply times, which sorta means you can see Scott's box and it's responsive

as for traceroute, in the ugly window, type "tracert tsphub.dyndns.org" after a few moments, you should get a bunch of IP numbers, these are the paths/stops that lie between you and Scott's computer. i dunno how useful traceroute is for you, even if you find some blockage somewhere, it'll be tough to near impossible to find someone (ie your ISP) to repair it
Thanks again for everyone's kind responses. Monto, I did as you suggested and I guess the problem is that my computer can't see Scott's at all. All four times the ping said 'request timed out' and the traceroute did the same. I'm still on the internet and able to connect to other hubs though. If you or anyone else can think of what could be causing this please send me an email at traveller03@attbi.com. I don't want to keep cluttering a trading board with my problems so I figure I should let this thread die.

Thanks!

You never said what version of M$Win you're running...
Win9x/ME -> start, run, winipcfg, release all, renew all, ok
Win2K -> start, run, command, ipconfig /flushdns
WinXP -> start -> configuration -> network connections -> right-click LAN -> repair

Then reboot.

If that doesn't work, give me a call at my helpdesk http://www.netphoria.org/wwwboard/wink.gif

: All the pumpkins of the world cower in fear again, as another Halloween approaches. As always, they are destined to be culinarily transformed into grotesque icons of a pagan tradition. Their only hope was to steal all of Earth's candles and take them away to the distant pumpkin planet, Pumpkinia.

I'm running win98 and as it happens I stumbled upon the solution you gave just a little while ago so I'm happily downloading again. http://www.netphoria.org/wwwboard/smile.gif

Thanks again to all who responded!
