World of Warcraft is a MMORPG along the same lines as Everquest, Shadowbane etc.

wow is something like $17 a month?

wc3 is free to play online.

I considered playing this because the low US dollar makes it quite cheap, but these server issues have put me off again. Probably for the best anyway.

The server issues are improving greatly... they had job opening listed on www.blizzard.com, so maybe they got someone competant in there. Plus, we got a 48 hour extension on our subscriptions for the lost time.
