i had the opportunity to see an exhibition put on a few years ago at the gagosian, called "torqued spirals, toruses and spheres." it was basically several rooms full of these sculptures, beautifully lit from the warehouse-high ceiling windows.

so you went to see the show? i wanted to go so bad but i was too broke and i didn't have any friends to crash with. i really like his torqued shapes. i saw a good torqued ellipse in a picture and i read a few articles on those sculptures at the gagosian (and visited their wbesite), but i've never gotten to be around one. there is one in grant park that looks kinda like this from an arial view, it's pretty tall, like maybe 20 feet.

but it kinda sucks because the ground is bad around it and it smelled like pee in the summer and there was grafitti inside it. poor. i was upset.

i know i'll get to see more of his big ones soon somehow.
