I think the drumming on Home is underrated. It's fantastic.

fuck i can't believe i forgot tristessa. jimmy's just got it nailed when it comes to huge clunky multiple-hit beats (if that makes any sense).

Geek USA
Bodies
Tristessa
Mary Star of the Sea
Jellybelly

I don't think Tristessa is double bass. It's more likely just a big tom.

He said he tried it once and described himself as "inept" I think.

I'm pretty sure the mechanic he uses involves the bass in tandem with a large floor tom on both "Tristessa" and "I Am One. Just" watch Vieuphoria and see what he does on "I Am One." Also I think Billy-Corgan.net has an old video of them playing "Tristessa" although the camera angle on the drum kit is not conducive to viewing what Jimmy does, exactly.

I was thinking the same thing. Dave Grohl does that a lot on his new album Probot. Of course, it is possible Jimmy's using just his one foot. What I remember from people talking about his clinics was he could do that pretty damn fast. He must use both techniques here and there all the time though.

La Dolly Vita and Frail and Bedazzled are also great ones.

Totally Agree, The drum intro is just great. I always wanted to hear/see that song live to marvel with jimmy performance. At least I have the Arising

friends of mine that have always thought jimmy was an "ok" drummer had their jaws to the floor when they heard Mary Star of the Sea and the insane fills he does.

I always thought jimmy had a double pedal - stuff like Quiet on Vieuphoria and Cash car star from that final TV performance would be impossible without it. he doesn't use it the whole time like Lars ulrich or joey jordison but it is there....

anyways,

Cash Car Star
Geek USA
Jellybelly
Lucky 13
Lyric (am i allowed Zwan?)

1. Tales of a Scorched Earth

This song must be first. He plays so fast and hard, its a challenge to hear the drums as a seperate instrument from the guitars.

All joking aside, for some reason (and I'm not claiming that this is his best work) I can't get the drum beat from Glass and the Ghost Children out of my head.

Laugh at me if you wish, but it's the first drum beat that has ever gripped onto me. For some strange reason.

Yeah.

The roll he does on Tristessa is the foundation for all his drumming goodness to come.

Off the top of my head, other great Jimmy drum songs would have to be:
I am One
Geek
Jellybelly

I am at work and need my pumpkins cd/mp3 collection to really say what his best stuff is... generally it is all better live than on album.

correct! alt. title...
but it has a deeper meaning, since Billy said in the machina interview that when the song started (dubbed Disco King) billy wanted to mock people on the dancefloor, and he likedJimmy's "disco beat" a lot...
BC: "he can kinda play the disco beat..."
so i like that!! billy pretty much wrote the song for Jimmy!
