Question Have any of you ever visited a psychic?

Just curious.

I've actually gone twice, both times at the behest of others and neither time did I pay for the reading. One used Tarot and one was a palm reader.

What's strange is that they both told me the same thing (well, they told me lots of different things, but one majot part was in common). Now I'm normally a skeptic, but I was talking about this last night with someone and it reminded me of these events, since I suppose soon enough I'll find out.

Both told me that I would marry later in life, that the woman would be younger, and that from the age of 31 and on, I would never date anyone else other than her. Even the phraseology both used was the same, which was odd. I visited the first one when I was 22 or 23, and the second around 27 or so.

Anyone else have anything to contribute about their experiences?

2 psychics. one in colombia and one here in miami.

none of them were like stupid fair psychics...but family friends that i have known my whole life.

also i've gotten my astral chart read various times by a german-colombian astrologer and a very famous colombian astrologer Mauricio Puerta (he's an anthropologist and has lived with the Indians for over 30 years in Colombia..he's sough by world leaders and politicians to help them out on decisions and stuff.) He actually stayed in our apt. for a week earlier this year..i posted the story but almost everyone laughed at me. he's an amazingly interesting man.

When I was in 1st year at University, they had a tent set up with one of the students reading Tarrot cards. It was free. I flipped over a few and he said "there is a girl right here for you". The next day I got a blowjob from one of my fellow resident students. She was a cockwhore and she liked the big Al cock in her mouth.

I never flip over the cockwhore card.

I've been to a few different psychics to have my cards read. A few of them were really dead on about really specific things, and I think some of them were just scams.

None of them compare to my mom. I wouldn't call my mom a "psychic", but she has an amazing gift when it comes to tarot card reading. I've had her read for a lot of my friends who were skeptics, and they all break down and cry when mom did their cards. She's amazing.

A friend of mine went once. She said everything she learned came true, very specific, including her first divorce. It was very scary for her, and she's never returned. She wouldn't tell me details outside of the divorce, but her Dad died of cancer and I'm pretty sure she learned of it from the psychic, years before.

Here's where she went:

lilydale

I grew up near there, but never had a reading.

Yes, once. She even recorded some of the reading on cassette and I still have it. She talked about something that happened during my youth that I hadn't thought about in years and it caused a few tears to emerge.

Weird. Anyway I hadn't thought about it in years, and then someone mentioned the topic the other day, and I realized I only have 1 year left.... :erm

What's good though is that they both said it would last forever and that we'd both live long and incredibly happy lives. I guess we'll see...

I went to a psychic (it was free).

It's an experience I won't forget. Sure, she could just be really good at guessing...but one of the very first things she said to me when I sat down and she flipped over the cards was 'Which one of your parents attempted suicide?' and that floored me.

The rest of the stuff I'd rather not go into detail about, but it was definitely a strange experience considering how skeptical I was.

i've avoided it, as well as avoided tarot cards.. for a few reasons. first, is i believe in it, even though im a skeptic about tons of things.

i believe in it, yet i'm aware that there is tremendous potential for fraud.. so i wouldn't want my experience to be a fraudulent person, ruining my belief.

another reason is that i'd not want what i hear to haunt me, because i wouldn't be able to brush it off and just be like, 'oh, what do they know'.

i'd also like to save it for some time when i'd really need it. like, right now, the unknowns in my life i'm ok with. i like having the unknowns because it allows for tremendous opportunities to learn and pursue paths that might not ultimately lead to a whole lot, but definitely allow for growth and learning.

i want the experience to be particularly moving, and i don't want to like.. squander that just for idle amusement.

i am totally interested in it, yet each time the opportunity has presented itself, i knew very distinctly that i did not want to participate. like, someitmes i am ambivalent about things, but this was very certain, i just did not want to do it at that time.

i do, however, look forward to the time when i DO go through with it.

No, but one decided to read my mind while I was minding my own business in a store.

I was walking around a metaphysical store with Tarot cards (initially because they were pretty haha), and this woman comes up to me, "I wouldn't let my daughter buy tarot cards or anything until she's 16.. You still have a few years.. (blah blah blah) you should use your love of animals for something (blah blah blah blah)" needless to say, I was pissed about her invading my brain without asking.

Hahaha.

My friends were, at the time, big into the Wicca thing... so some of them tried to teach me how to close off my brain to intruders. It just gave me headaches :erm

Yeah whatever they were doing wasn't the right way to do it. Everyone knows the best way to protect your brain waves from the CIA and their alien lizard overloards is with a tin foil hat.

Yeah, I went to a psychic guy one time. He did palmistry and tarot cards. I went a really long time ago and so far, nothing he said has come true. He did say the coolest past lives though. He said I was a very old soul. That I went back to Egypt, Atlantis and I was an Inca Princess. He also said I used to be a nun and a wolf.

Man I have to find that tape - he recorded the reading!

I'm actually with you. I mean take my example, she had an above 50% shot at the divorce, and everyone dies, and lots of people die of cancer.

Only thing though, is that she predicted the year of the divorvce. :erm And, I'm pretty sure, the year of her father's death (can't confirm that though). That's predicted, not guessed at a past event.

Guess my friend could have been lying too. All I know is she didn't like talking about it.

Not really. People will believe anything that makes them feel good.

There are still Christians aren't there?

I lost $10 to some lady with a shop on 53rd street. She told me I was going to very lonely and alone my whole life and that I had an awful future (I'll spare the details) and that she needed $150 to burn emergency candles to free my blockages. I did not get the candles burned, I've heard that its a typical scam.

The other day I almost went to get a new reading, but I don't really want to go to just anyone again and get scammed and told a bunch of shit for $10.

I sat by my friend once while she went to this psychic at the Youth Fair. She got a palm read. It was amazing - things she told were accurate, but I could see how she constructed it so that we THINK it's accurate but it's only pretty vague, open-ended and opened to interpretation.
I didn't buy it, of course.

I totally didn't think it was worth $10, though.
