When he got stabbed.... . I normally don't care when people die in movies....but I was PISSED. He was such a good guy. So I was ecstatic to learn that he was not actually dead. yay.

I'm inclined to beleive the school of thought that says that Noah's character merely represented the unpredictability of human nature, and our inability to shut it out, even despite our best efforts. Note that there was a lot of emphasis by William Hurt's character on the fact that Noah commited a *crime* when he stabbed Lucius. He repeated this at least a couple times, thus emphasizing that the very reason the Elders were living their chosen lifestyle had been called into question. I think that the bigger issue when it comes to the character of Noah is not his motivations, but rather the Elder's reactions to his actions.

"Easy to predict,
bullshit.

I refuse to believe this. There was absolutely nothing that would lead you to believe that that was what was going on in the first half of the movie.

I'm glad nearly everyone agrees this movie was pretty much a pile of crap and nothing remotely "great."

i am going to agree with him. how the fuck can you see a simple preview of this movie and go, "hey, i bet the movie isn't really set in the time you think it's set in. i bet the rest of the world is modernized!" bullshit.

that's not what i thought. i saw the preview and said "i bet there aren't even any monsters. i bet it's just some stupid people that try to keep them in the village." and HOLY SHIT! I WAS TOTALLY RIGHT!

ok, completely acceptable... because that's what i thought when i saw the preview too. somebody confirmed it earlier in this thread, before i saw the movie... the bastard. but that's not the whole twist really, and it didn't ENTIRELY ruin the movie for me.

WELL NO SHIT.

Anyone who wasn't completley retarded figured that out.

THAT WASN'T THE TWIST.

boooo to you.

Edit: I guess not everyone would have figured that out for sure. But I mean, you had to suspect that.

I just saw it and I liked it. There a lot worse movies out there right now. I don't go to the theaters much and I was glad that I went and saw this one.

just one thing.....I don't know if it was just the theater I went to but throughout the entire movie every other scene had a mic hanging down the top of the screen. It got ridiculous. I don't know how they could've let something like that happen. Perhaps there was some kind of artsy motivation in there I haven't quite figured out yet. Or maybe it's a plot to get viewers to buy wide-screen TVs.

Okay. I just came back from seeing it.

It was one of the worst movies I have seen this year. The ending was so anticlimatic and during the movie I had to piss so bad but I held it in waiting for something in the movie to happen. It never did. The only good thing about the movie was Adrian Brody, as he made it more into a comedy.

Shamalayn's worst, BY FAR. I am a huge fan of his, but this is a HUGE disappointment.

also... I was a bit confused how on the gravestone it said in the beginning 1800 - 1807... I mean, are the people that stupid to think the year never changes or goes that slowly? That part sucked along with the rest of the movie.
