Question what do you think of this thought?

my friend said something like it to me today:

god doesn't exist because existence is a human constructed limitation and so to state that such an entity either does or does not "exist" would be quite ridiculous.

I think your friend was off handedly (is that a word?) contradicting himself.

Too much talk about God and religions lately... I'm currently trying to make the decision on whether to convert to Catholicism or not. Bah.

That statement reminds me of this mathmatical datastructures class (logic) class my boyfriend is taking right now... where something either is true, or is not true... but cannot be both in one frame of time, however if you eliminate the time frame, and just look at is as if time was nonexistant, then both true and false statements can be true at the same time. Or something.

Actually... the more I read that statement the more it makes sense to me.
But how can existance be constructed by humans? I mean, obviously you exist, or else you wouldn't be standing there... or is he referring to the fact that existing after not... 'existing' after being dead .... Bah I'm confusing myself.
8:15am is too damn early for me to be babbling about this. Sorry.

yeah it is a little confusing, here is what I think of it. Existence isnt a human constructed limitation. The word 'existence'
is a human constructed limitation and perhaps the concept of
existence is too, but existence itself isn't necessarily limited.

And the argument merely defines that god is unknowable, which is an
agnostic position, not an atheist's position. And many people who
believe in god dont believe he is knowable either.
