Not true. This is universal of all christian faiths. Do you think that Mormons are the only one's that believe that the soul is "created" prior to birth?

The Bible is the "True Word of God?" Who told you this?

I could go on for pages about what makes the LDS church a cult, and how the Bible specifically warns against believing in a prophet like Joeseph Smith who comes along saying that an angel told him that the Bible is not the true word of God.

Of course hating Mormons does make me a complete hypocrite because God says to love everyone.

Hypocrite - yes.

Bigot - no.

yeah and you know what? the christians distorted the jewish bible and i try my hardest not to let it bother me. so deal with it.

Samsa,

You have a point. In fact, my parents eventually divorced because my mom kept telling my dad that Christians "did not distort the Kike bible."

I don't know. As a Jew, my dad really didn't take to kindly to my mom's terminology, but life goes on. Although it almost did not go on for my father after he one time responded "should I just put you on a boat back to El Salvador you fucking dirty spic bitch."

It was definetely a defining moment in my childhood. Right up there with the Minnesotta Twins 1991 World Series victory.

Also, have you seen the new magazine "Heeb"? I'm assuming it's online at www.heeb.com or at www.heebthemagazine.com. But you can find the hard copy at any Tower Records location. It kicks ass. Especially the feature on the JewFro in the inaugraul issue.

Note to Amazing Grace: Catholics don't have money laundering born preachers, we have priests (insert your pedophile priest jokes here).

My feelings on the Mormon distortion of the Bible is fueled by own research and, more importantly from discussions with current and former Mormons.

Mostly from the former Mormons because the current ones are way too brainwashed too realize that it's a little wacky to believe that Jesus had sex with Mary; that God once lived on the moon; that a known liar like Joeseph Smith is to be trusted when he tells people the angle Moroni spoke to him when he visited the other day; and that Mormons will live forever as Gods.

I don't think that as a Catholic you have a right to preach about other religions distorting the Bible/ word of God/ etc.

Just a little advice from a former Altar Server in the Catholic church.

Amazing Dumbass: I find it HILARIOUS that Mormons and Mormon-sympathizers just assume that if someone is criticizing their religion it is based on Ed Decker and other anti-Mormon literature.

Once again, this is proof of your inability to reason on an adult level. It is circular reasoning for you to combat any Mormon bashing by saying that it comes from anti-Mormon literature. This allows you to deflect any criticism with a stock answer.

You did not actually address any of the criticisms I made. Not a single one of them. Rather than adress the five or six criticism you simply said, "Duh, looks like you've read your Ed Decker. Duh."

Are you Mormon, or are you a Mormon-sympathizer?

And do you plan to address any of the criticisms or just come back with more circular reasoning, such as "well anyone who would bash Mormon beliefs is just a bigot."

"Mormon-sympathizers"? You're speaking as though we are talking about fucking Nazis here. Get your shit straight and your head out of your ass, and maybe somebody will take you seriously.

I think you may be on to something by pointing out the hilarity of the term "Mormon sympathizer." It's hard to even say that without laughing.

But since you asked, a Mormon sympathizer is someone sticks up for Mormons and/or supports their pursuit of their faith and their pursuit of happiness. Just like a Clinton-sympathizer would be someone who supports Clinton and/or sticks up for him when his integrity is questioned.

If I wanted to be taken seriously I would not use terms like Mormon sympathizer but apparently people are taking it pretty seriously. Like I said, maybe it's all schtick on the anti-Mormon thing.

I'm not really sure that netphoria.org is the place where you go when you want to be taken seriously. Maybe I'll learn otherwise.

The only one of those that is even close to being true is the one about Mormons becoming Gods, and you've even taken that out of context. Like I said, tell me your sources and give me some direct quotes when you start spitting slander. And don't come back with "You're a dumbass! Quit using circular reasoning!" I've dealt with people like you more than you realize. I want a solid answer: where are your sources? And don't just say, "I've done my own research with Mormons and former Mormons." I want actual direct quotes from church leaders.

B. You said that you're Catholic. If you want to talk about things not being in line with the Bible, look to your own religion. You failed to address that in your last post. Tell me where in the Bible it condones priests molesting young boys.

A. Are you serious? Your religion is so fucked up in its secretive nature that I could not get a quote from within the LDS church if I tried.

You are still making poor poor arguments. You refuse to refute any of the comments other than to say they are not true. You know they are true.

I got my information from the Book of Mormon and from members of the LDS church, past and present. I already said that. You want names: Erik Templin and his 16 brothers and sisters. Jennifer Dahdari and her whole clan. The Robertson sisters from Texas. Jenny McDonald from the Twin Cities.

What is the point of this. The accusations are true and you know it.

B. If you wanna talk about morals, you really should look in the mirror. Just ask Elizabeth Smart. Or Tom Green. Morals? Yeah, it's pretty moral to have multiple wives.

I am greatly ashamed of the pedophile priests, but do take some solace in the fact that the pedophilia rate is hire in the Protestant ministry. Our problem is with covering it up. Protestants don't cover it up. They admit to it, and move on.

But I think what you wanted to say, is that Catholics distort the Bible too. I could point you in the direction of some anti-Catholic literature, but it's written by the same people who write anti-Mormon literature, they are called Apologists and they are scum who are just out to make money by distortin religoins like Mormonism and Catholicism.

So, do your homework and you'll have much more ammo to rip the Catholic church other than saying things like, "at least we don't molest little boys." Right you guys just marry little girls.

hey ace of aces, you give catholics a bad name and i can't even begin refuting some of the shit you've stated. the problem IS pedophilia. it shouldn't be happening! nor should we be covering it up. don't compare us to the protestants. the priests were wrong plain and simple.

there's alot of falsities in the bible and you know it. hundreds of gospels were written and only four made it in. what does that tell you? everyone had a different story.

utah is not the reason a girl is dead. its just one crazy fuck. they are in every state and surrounded by every religion.

yup and every mormon is marry a little girl. there is something called the state law. look into it.

catholicism has its severe flaws just like other religions. you have to accept that and move on. have your beliefs but don't codemn others for their own. that's what jesus would have said. http://www.netphoria.org/wwwboard/smile.gif
