Arrow Global Economic Power, the U.S. Economy, and Iraq

Alright kids, what do you think about this Mr. Heard's ideas about why the world is the way it is these days? It's a topic I've come across before, but I don't think I've ever seen it discussed here and I'd like to know what all your impressive, articulate brains think about it.

EDIT: Please disregard and try to ignore the opinionated words of the guy who posted the article there, whether you believe them or not. Just read the article first and then see what you think.

I agree to an extent. I think that most of what he says on the EU, in economic terms is correct. I keep a well used copy of their draft constitution on one of my bookshelves that discusses this item is very vague terms.

I think that his analysis is pretty right on. What's going to be funny ius that, morally, most people on this forum would side with the EU over the US for being the dominant world power.

You know, I'd like to hear the reasoned arguments against this - we've heard both sides of the 'oil for oil's sake' debate but I wouldn't mind somebody taking this on.

thought provoking.

i think it's alarming that the euro and dollar could be slugging it out for world dominance. it's a believable scenario, and it's unnerving to consider two groups deciding the fate of the world, much like i dislike the two political groups here having so much power.

the world needs 3rd and 4th parties, some good ol' teddy roosevelt trust-busting.

if china does things "right" for another decade or so we'll definitely have a 3rd party.

india would seem a likely 4th in sheer terms of population, but it's hard to say. if countries in south america were more stable....

mexico is a country that is really interesting to me. i've never been there, but i wonder how it could improve itself and be more vocal in the global market. it seems that country could develop itself into a more worthwhile place. millions of mexicans head north every year, yet they remain loyal to mexico, the country that gave up on them. surely mexico has resources and industry waiting to compete with the other big groups.

strange. i need to learn more about mexico.
