If you want to discuss a story, link it and give your take on it. I think I speak for a lot of people when I say I don't want just to click links and read stories - I do that every day in the newspaper and news Web sites.

How about putting tags in the title like [NEWS STORY!!] - if you're going to post a story then fair enough, and why click two links (and possibly load a bunch of graphics and flash movies) just to read it? If it's quoted or in italics then it's easy to scroll past.
