Default a fish died

in my sister's tank.

she seems to beleieve that we should leave the corpse there to decompose and add to the ecosystem and whatnot or something...

but I think that eating rotting fish is bad for the living fish. no? I want to take the thing out before all the other fish DIE because of it...

who's right?

it depends on the kind of tank you have. if you have a tank which supports its own eco system...as in, you don't have to ever clean the tank...you could leave the dead fish in there. if you have the kind of tank where you have to clean the tank, and change the water often, etc... leaving the dead fish in there leaves the healthy fish open for diseases. (for the record, i worked in a petstore for 2 years)

...and take this as you will from a goth, but... isnt leaving a dead pet fish in the tank a bit morbid? bury the poor thing...or flush it or something...

have closure and do a whole funeral where you flush it down the toilet, like on Cosby.

Red face

I remember when my very first fish died...I was maybe 4 yrs old. My mom put it in a ziploc bag and put it on the back porch and told me that God would come that night and take it to heaven.
