Talking Banned Books

http://fatchucks.com/z4.bb.html

These are some interesting things I found out.

Concerning the Harry Potter series; "These books were the subject of a public book burning in Alamogordo, New Mexico, due to their promotion of witchcraft."

Concerning Animal Farm; In Islam, it is forbidden to eat pork. Since the main characters in Animal Farm are pigs that act like humans, the book has been banned. That said, there is one small catch: nowhere in the Koran (the Islamic bible,) does it even mention that the images or likenesses of pigs are forbidden, just the meat. This fact does not stop the authorities from seizing this book as well as likenesses of the Muppet?s Miss. Piggy.

yes they do.

these are banned in the United States, right?

it's most likely an effort to not "offend" the islamic students.

or black students by banning books with nigger in them or racist undertones in them.

it's all political correct crap in an attempt to be nice and soft and plushy and not offend people. it's stupid.

I don't think America has any problem with offending Islamic students.

No the books that sp_aced mentioned are being banned/burned by religous zealots. Not limp-wristed panty-waisted liberals banning them because they say the word "nigger" or some such nonsense.
