Default Elvis Costello

Everyone tells me he's great, but to be honest, I've never heard anything by him. I don't download stuff, but I'm willing to go out and buy 2-3 records to see what's what. Recomendations please?

Thumbs up

I'd start with My Aim Is True and This Year's Model.

If you like Elvis I would also highly reccomend checking out The Specials, Joe Jackson, Squeeze, and Nick Lowe.

i'd say this year's model should take priority
if you love that album, get armed forces, which is more of the same
if you're not big on it, get imperial bedroom

I'd go with This Year's Model and My Aim Is True first, but keep them coming after you get hooked.

Thanks for your help everyone. This Year's Model and My Aim Is True seems like concensus ones so I'll get those.
