Default Go see the Frogs!

They're getting old and they might not be around much longer, so you owe it to them. Last night's show was fucking transcendent. They were crude and demeaning and in overall good spirits, completely destroying the drunks that surrounded them.

Vanilla was there, back me up on this.

yes i was there. i bought My Daughter The Broad and Jimmy signed it. It seems like they're out of money. They were selling old tickets to shows, and i picked up a backstage pass when the Pumpkins played at the Double Door.
yes, they were crude and demeaning, and it was hilarious. Yes, they are definitely getting old. the highlight was seeing them perform "homos". it made me smile.
Did you know that Sebastian Bach played with the frogs? weird.

It was the other way around. Jimmy played guitar for Bach on a tour and the "Bring Em Bach Alive" album. They were also in The Last Hard Men together, definately one of the weirdest bands of cast-offs ever.

They were also selling a cassette copy of MCIS. I didn't see them selling any old tickets, but I was overwhelmed at how much merch they had. I bought one of the Made-Up Songs tapes and a CD of more of them

Does anyone know what the hell The Frogs do to sustain themselves? They obviously must have some sort of day jobs somewhere.

Keenan and Kel? Are you sure? I know they played that on Oddville MTV and Bach might've been there. It's weird that nobody else seems to have ever mentioned it. I have severe doubts that Nickelodeon would let such a thing happen.

But not about it being on Keenan and Kel.

From The Onion:
I mean, we just did MTV, this Oddville show. The lamest thing on earth. I've watched MTV for so many years, and I swore to myself I would never go on it. But we did Oddville, and I'd never realized how structured and pre-planned this thing was. We said we wouldn't, but one thing led to another, and we all ended up going crazy on the show. I mean, it was mild, like candy-coated anarchy--and they edited it out. They cut the whole thing out at the end, where Jimmy went up on the desk. The producer went nuts: I guess he threw his clipboard across the room, and was bitching at all the people who came with us. Sebastian [Bach, from Skid Row] was riding on the host's back; we found out later that they consider [the host] part of the family, and he's got a bad back and two herniated disks or something. Oh, fuck me. We didn't know this. Maybe if they'd told us, "Don't go on the main guy's back," we wouldn't have. I guess Sebastian was dry-humping him or something, and [Bach] said [the host] was into it. He was laughing! He was into it. He was fine afterward. He was like, "Great, great show. Good energy. Come back again." That's what he said. I felt bad, though, because I gave them my word. But [other band members] just went off. If I'd have known they were going to do that, I'd have fucking went off. I mean, Kenan [Thompson] and Kel [Mitchell, from Good Burger] were on the show with us, and those guys were, like, high-fiving Jimmy. One of them went and danced on top of the desk with him. And MTV cut it all out. It hasn't been shown, which sucks. I want to see what it looks like. All the people who were there told me it was just a riot.

I didn't even search for that. I was trying to find Frogs interviews and this is the only one that came up. I think maybe I should interview the Frogs.

that was a typo. i meant to say 'on on on' as in 'RIGHT ON' as in 'i agree with this statement'.

ok cool. my boyfriend realizes now that it was Oddville, and either Keenan or Kel were there on the show too.
and i also would be interested in knowing what the frogs do to maintain themselves.

Hmm. I assumed you would hate The Frogs based on their "It's only Right and Natural" album.

What're you talking about? Their whole career glorifies homosexuality. I would've thought you'd like them because they made an album that used the word "Nigger" repeatedly.

I saw the Frogs open for Zwan at the Double Door and it was okay. I definitely wouldn't have made a big deal over it, but maybe it's just not my thing.

you're not supposed to like the frogs for their music it's the onstage foolishness that provides the rawk.

sounds like when you're bangin grandma! - jimmy flemion

The music's pretty fun too. Even their non-vulgar stuff is pretty well written.

They really showed their music geekiness on Saturday. They know a lot about the Beatles and pop music in general and seem to have an endless knowledge of songs. But then, most old men probably do.
