FDB is too persistant to truly be considered a troll, I think. He actually makes real replies to things, too.

I think the main problem is the lack of rules, that Irrelevant pointed out in the first thread, last night. Maybe that's what makes Phoria so great, but it also creates holes and uncertainties when shit like this happens.

Point is, FDB is funny and really only rags on those who at least somewhat deserve it. coffee spoons is an advantageous little troll who gets off on angering people. I think the differences are as clear as day.

I don't really see a difference at all except that coffee spoons is shooting for a bigger target than Affect. If I banned him for racism, I'd have to ban the next person that says something anti-gay, etc.

Banning, I believe, should be used for trolls and people who don't agree to be more... agreeable. Perhaps you could ask FDB to lower his personal attacks, or refrain from using the word 'fag' more than a vowel is used in English, but if you're going to ban him (which I guess is a moot point now), then coffee spoons should be right goddamn next to him.

It's at the whim of everyone else, too. Most bans are based on complaints, and if someone doesn't get complaints, usually something doesn't happen. That really is the difference. If reports end up in my mailbox, I do stuff about them. I can't be here to make sure everything is running just as everyone would want it to (though I'm around pretty often ), but I do react quickly to problems.

I totally agree with Mason on this. A warning should have been given, but only to the effect of image size and frequency of use. I know I'm still listed as mod of the GC, but I can't read it all. I depend on my "staff" to report problems to me when they are found. I have yet to see any instance of rule-breaking, or being anything other than an insensitive prick. It's not what I want to see, it's not what I agree with, but if we all agreed with every other mindless fuck on this message board, where would we be?

I hand-edited a bunch of those when I saw them. In that instance, there was a warning and an eventual banning. *****'s right that it's mostly a case of people being pricks rather than actually breaking clear rules... and if we ban people for being pricks, it's gonna get pretty boring around here.

I don't know anything about the hivetit and I certainly didn't ban anybody over it (even thought it turned my stomach.) I really would've done something if I'd looked in the Lounge, which hadn't been used since early Dec and I'd gotten used to ignoring it. I'll say it again, report posts that have bad stuff in them and someone will do something about it.

For the record, i was NEVER warned about the Affect Penis Smile pic. I was only banned when steve cried 3-4 times in one thread; saying "when is andrew gonna see this?". obviously someone in the mod crew likes affect. I don't see any of you banning all the fucks posting pics of Trykristin's ass all the time...I think we should all agree on making the board a free for all. Let the trolls post freely, it's always funny.
