I don't mind public transportation. I like reading and sometime I'd have to go through those books anyways, plus sometimes you can meet/see really interesting people in there. It costs me 700 EUR for a one year and the pt here is really good.
I borrow my car from parents if I really need it.

I took a cab this morning, and it was $30 well spent.

I do love public transportation. It's a big reason why I live in Chicago. My commute is 1 hour and 10-30 minutes each way, to and from work. I do all my reading on the bus/train, and I've read a lot of great books that way in the past six months. I only feel the desire to complain in the winter, because I hate the weather. My bosses offered me a promotion that would cover the cost of buying a car, but I think I'd rather stick with PT and look for a new job closer to home. Having a car in the city is a lot of work, especially with street cleaning and lots of snow to shovel off and expensive gas, parking and city stickers.

I didn't even think you could smoke on buses anymore, and then I remembered you live in Quebec.

If you could read, which I know most of Nova Scotia cannot do, you would see that it said:

and not on the bus. Get it? He was smoking while he was waiting to get on the bus, where it was windy. Wind blows ashes around.

i pretty much have a love/hate relationship when it comes to taking public transit. at times i like doing it, but at other times, it can be such a darned pain in the ass to take(espeically the fact that i have to give an extra time allowance to get ANYWHERE AT ALL, via pubic transit). this time allowance crap is exactly why i hate taking the regular buses that stop everywhere, and have a huge preference towards taking express buses and the L(especially the Red, Purple, and Blue Lines) over a regular bus route anyday of the week(i just wish the darned X49 and X80 buses would run on ALL weekend days(including holidays), and NOT JUST ONLY on stupid weekdays/weekday rush hours).

dammit, i actually am gonna admit that i'm getting to the point where i'm getting sick of relying on transit, and wanting my own car to drive everywhere, even if it is a pain in the ass to find parking in some neighborhoods. i mean hey, it beats the hell outta getting stuck somewhere after the buses stop running and having to beg someone for a ride, and/or walking a few miles to find the next damn closest bus route still operating, that's for fucking sure.

WTF 350-700 EUR for a yearly pass? Paris has the most extensive metro in the world, and buses *******d, for 250 a year, or 48 a month. And this city is goddamned expensive.
