Lee, remember when my comp was broken for a while?
Well I left it broken when I went home to San Antonio and when I came back a month later to Austin it was working fine. I don't know how or why but I'm just glad it's working. I'm sure something you had me do fixed it but it didn't kick in till much later?
Thanks for helping me out.

Oh and I have AVG on my computer and it works very well.

Red face

Well I did the updates, downloaded the virus thing, made some disks, updated everything again, ran everything a few more times, adaware kept finding like 1 or 2 things...the AVG thing found 1 virus "startup" which I'm guessing was what kept changing my homepage when I would restart?

Well I did everything a million times before I restarted...then I did and thank you so much Lee, because it seems (*knock on wood*) to all be gone. My homepage was set to www.hotmail.com like normal, and the drusearch bullshit didnt come up.

My works still doesn't open, but I'm too exhausted to worry about that now, I'll just tell my boss I don't know what happened and play dumb.

Thank you thank you thank you thank you thank you so much, Lee!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

No problem guys, I just hope everything stays ok from now on. Threaten other people who go near your computers if you have to

Really. Then again, the business kind of deserves everything it gets if it decides to penny pinch and not purchase an AV program.

The last place I worked had a corporate-edition version of Cheyenne, it was about 5 years old and hadn't connected to an update server in about 3 years, and we got hit by that I Love You virus (like a year after everyone else). Most people ended up getting sent home while we tried to fix it up. And one of the things that virus does, is rename certain filetypes to .vbs and clear all the data from them. One of those filetypes was .jpg. We had a creative department which was responsible for creating and maintaining websites for business clients, as well as printed materials. You can see where I'm going here. And guess who had to fix it?
