Arrow Family Guy 99.9% offically comming back

- they just don't know where it'll air. Shopping it to another network? Broadcast on FOX? Release exclusively as DVD sets? Who owns the rights to it all anyway?

If they put it on FOX they better damn well slam it down into the post-Simpsons slot and leave it there and don't move it.

Anyway, its on the move and the Griffins shall return with a bunch of episodes, not a single movie.

FAMILY GUY creator confirms TV return of Stewie and family
Seth McFarlane says it's all being negotiated right now

FAMILY GUY creator Seth McFarlane spoke with The New York Post newspaper and updated everyone as to what form the return of the Griffin family is coming in. Remember that plan to produce a direct-to-DVD FAMILY GUY film? It looks like the show is coming back to television -- it's just that McFarlane doesn't know where it will be.

"We're sort of waiting on an official word, but to the best of my knowledge, the plan is to start producing a batch of new episodes without necessarily knowing where they're going to wind up," McFarlane tells the Post. "It's sort of a new format that really hasn't been tried before, and it's based on the DVD sales."

Those DVD sales have been huge, with hundreds of thousands of copies of each of the two FAMILY GUY volumes being sold. "It's insane," adds McFarlane. "Never in my wildest dreams could I have imagined that it would have this kind of afterlife. It's just a shock to everybody who worked on the show."

We first brought you the story last September straight from McFarlane himself about FAMILY GUY's return. At that time the plan was to make a straight-to-DVD movie, and one of the story points would be that of baby Stewie coming out of the closet. With Fox or another network preparing to pick up a second incarnation of the series, it doesn't look like there would be room for a FAMILY GUY film.

"To do an original movie directly for DVD and the series at the same time would be a little difficult," McFarlane explains. "But there's been some discussion of doing a series of episodes that would all link together to form a movie."

Yes. Excellent.

the DVD movie was annouced first then canned. The return of the TV series was fairly offically, but not really. This is really fairly almost official, but not yet. Still its an inch closer, and I can pretty much gaurantee we will see family guy on TV again, hopefully by this time next year.

they should just show them on adultswim like they've been doing with the reruns. adultswim gets enough viewers, and im sure half the reason why the dvds sold so good has to do with adultswim viewers.
