Talking I love cleaning...

Not so much the act of cleaning, but the feeling you get after you've cleaned.

You feel accomplished, and you feel worthy of relaxing in a room you just made beautiful.

I spent a few hours making everything in my apartment all organized and nice. Now it looks terrific in here and I'm drinking tea, smoking a bowl, and listening to Radiohead and everything's just lovely.

I can relax and not feel like I have something to do. =)

*is at peace with the world*

sometimes i get an urge to super clean and super organize everything. this usually happens at like 2am. i've done a lot of cleaning today b/c aidan finally got a room of his own. so we had to move everything out of the room (just a small bed and some small furniture) and set up his crib and then move his dresser and changing table and toybox in there. my mom and i went to target and bought all the stuff for his room (bumper bads, rugs, lamp, etc.) so i had to set all that up. and now i have to superclean MY room and get all of his stuff out of there.
but then i will feel accomplished.

My grandma told me that writers often use cleaning as a method of procrastinating their writing.

Seems fairly accurate, for me.

I do that instead of writing my articles or studying in general.

Stacy, come clean my apartment. I'll even pay you.

My sisters graduation was yesterday so we rented a hall to party in after the ceremony. 70 people make a big mess so I helped clean the hall up. Then people came here after and made another mess. Guess who got to clean that up? It wasn't that bad cause I was so hammered, but it still sucked.

I'm in the process of cleaning out my room entirely... we're re-doing the carpet/floors. It sucks because I did this about a year ago, too.

Thankfully, I kept most of my stuff in milk-crates.

Because of this thread I had a hard time sleeping last night. I want to clean my apartment since my bronchitis is over and everything is ooozing with germs...

It took me almost an hour NOT to get up and scrub my apartment at 2AM last night.

That's what I'm planning tonight after class. Wooh.

Someone bitch at me if they see me online tonight, please?

Wow, I feel like I've done some good for the community.

(Sorry about making you want to clean at 2am, though )

I just put up some white lacy curtains that my Granny gave me, and they give my apartment a very comfy home feel. I never really felt comfortable anywhere other than my room...now that everything's clean, organized and my curtains are up, it feels like my home

Don't feel bad, I was having a bad obsessive compulsive day yesterday. I started ripping all my SP stuff into mp3s on my computer, and then I spent an hour and a half looking for the 1979 remixes.

Then I realized I haven't seen my Godspeed You Black Emperor CDs in months, so I started searching for those.... Ugh, it was horrible.

I loved it when I finally got blinds for my windows. It made every room feel like a room finally.

I enjoy cleaning but I can rarely clean more than 2 rooms very well in a day, unless I'm just straightening up everything. I love the feeling you were talking about -- when everything is in it's place and you have one less thing hanging over your head. However, this thread does not make me want to clean.

cleaning this place is like attempting to beat through a very dense jungle with a small, thin stick... i think i have the slobbiest roommate in the history of the world!

see if it were just me it would still be a mess, but none of this huge sink of dirty dishes or two full garbage bags or like... CONGEALED OUTMEAL AND OTHER FOODS left out that i always have to be on the lookout for to dump.

this weekend I started tackling the house.. dusting even.. I hate it though, because we have 2 cats and a large dog, there's hair on everything all the time, and right after you get rid of it.. it's back! augh. yuck.

and laundry. i hate laundry.

Oh, I'm on top of the garbage and dishes situation. Well I just emptied out some rancid stir fry from the fridge so the garbage reaks, but I took it outside. *sigh* I need a cheerleader to get it done.
