I have no qualms with either, but digipaks are pretty rad.

Digipak.
I hate dropping a jewel case on the floor and seeing 1000 pieces on the ground.

That is all.

Digipacks can be cool, jewel cases are boring unless they're they can hold two. But the back CD in the 2 CD cases never seem to stay in place... they always pop out. And I like slimline CD cases for some reason.

Hopefully I'll come across a cool longbox CD case some day.

Two things: Jewel cases, because they come with booklets. Digipacs get ruined more easily and bent and don't normally have multiple pages. I prefer the jewel case for its permanence and multiple pages.

Also, your new avatar < ATTN: Gil < TKITH.

Lies, bitch - this avatar was live mere minutes after we first got them back in the day. I haven't used it in ages. I think I'll bring Max back for a while though.

And digipaks can contain all kinds of things, that's why they're so cool. They kinda ARE the booklet in a way, but you can have booklets in there too. The last Throwing Muses album unfolds into 3x2 panels with the CD in the center and it's damn fine work

Ok, I just got the Tremelo ep by MBV in the mail today and it has this jewel case/digipack hybrid thing. It has a plastic exterior holding the cardboard in place so you get the coolness of a digipack coupled with the standardization of the jewel case. Also, you should get a little cutout in the front cardboard so you can fit in an artwork booklet, although I've only seen this in one digipack. But it's really neat-o!

digipaks look nicer and more original

but they get damaged too easily and ruin the uniformity of my cd collection which i'm very proud of

btw, lee, what's your band called?
you played anywhere recently? got any upcoming gigs?

Mmmmaybe one in February (in Bury) and there might be a couple of others. I don't handle the management side of things But we're recording this EP and I'm throwing a website together so that's keeping us pretty busy

recently I obtained a new stigma - everytime I hear about any band from British Isles, I am just expecting them start talking about their practicing with Jimmy Page, playing Fuck you twice as fast or about frontman's troubles with remembering how to play all my 50 awesome solos note by note.
Please tell me this ain't the case...

BTW, digipaks - they bring something personal. Or if you're going with jewel case, put it into some paper cover (Primus - Brown Album). Somehow it makes a difference.
