Red face "Zwan" to play OU????

I was browsing a livejournal community for Norman, and found a girl who claimed that Zwan was playing a free concert at OU.
I did a little research and found a schedule for our "winter welcome week," to be held January 20-23.

http://www.ou.edu/winter/schedule.htm

Apparently Zwan is scheduled to play on Tuesday on our campus...????

So...uhh...I thought they broke up? Maybe they just mean Billy??

I would say either Billy Solo now = Zwan or Billy's got a whole new backup group that now = Zwan.

Either way, weird.

Thanks for the update.

I knew it, I just had to graduate and leave Norman, only then would Zwan ever reunite and play on campus. But uh, in all seriousness, that's a bit strange. Good thing I'm only 2 hours away if I find out its true.

Don't mean to bust your bubble, but I doubt it.

Well it's been known for awhile that billy is trying to put together a tour of college campuses in January so it's probably just Billy. And since he took down the Zwan I doubt he's playing as Zwan. JUst some kind of miscommunication fuck up would be my guess.

I'm sure it is just Billy. I emailed a guy involved in the committee putting it together, so we'll see what he says.
It's still really exciting to me to think that Billy might be coming to OU. Billy, in any form, hasn't been to Oklahoma since 1998 and hasn't played in Norman since 1991. I've been out of the loop for awhile and I had no idea he was planning to tour colleges this winter. So this was a shock.
And that hall it says he's playing in, it has *awesome* acoustics. Billy playing even the nose harp would sound like gold in there.

I have a strong feeling the shows are going to suck. Billy playing a few songs and reading poetry.

I haven't heard anything about poetry readings at the college tour.

Nah, man, the book isn't supposed to come out till the end of the year, or so I thought. I think he's going to play stuff off the EP and stuff he's working on for his LP.

I don't care if Billy stands up there and sings Mary Had a Little Lamb or reads from The Cat in the Hat. He's welcome to do it in my town any day. And I'd gladly go see it, for free!

in case this is really happening, can non-students buy tickets? i know different universities have different policies about that thing. I wonder where else he's supposedly touring.

Reminds me of when Imperial Teen played at the Magic Stick many years ago and the Detroit Free Press printed "Faith No More" in their upcoming concert listings. Morons.

Well, it looks like Zwan was removed from this site. Now what?

Nope.

I emailed them asking what happened to the listing, here's their response.

The concert was listed on the schedule of events, but it has since been canceled. We had some communication problems so it took us a couple days to remove it. I'm sorry about that. The music guest on Thursday is TBA and will be a local artist.

I finally got a response from them as well, saying nearly the same thing:

"The concert was listed on the schedule of events, but it has since been canceled. We had some communication problems so it took us a couple days to remove it. I'm sorry about that."

so yeah, OU can officially go back to sucking a big fat wang again.

A couple of days? That's wack. They broke up months ago.
