Is this any good? How does it compare it to the styles of her previous albums? I like Tori but 'Stange Little Girls' sucked for the most part so I am now a little leery of her new album.

I'll be burning copies of Nirvana's Rio Demos and Acid Mothers Temple's Electric Heavyland. I may also copy Jesse's copy of the Nirvana GH, should he choose to buy it (as I'm sure as hell not going to.) Also, with any luck, my copies of either The Rolling Stones Chess Sessions or Beatles IV/Beatles '65 should come in the mail today. Music for free, it's great.

it is actually far better than I was expecting. there are like 18 tracks, and it is a very long record, only a couple of tracks are yet to grow on me.
it is a better disc than strange little girls, if that is saying anything, but nowhere near as interesting as venus and back. definitely 'tori-by-numbers' stuff

I may just go out and pick up Prong's 100% live... or I may not.

I was gonna get the new Sigur Ros, but it was overpriced. I'll wait for it used.

Instead I got the Slanted and Enchanted re-release (for 14.99!) and Miles Davis' Kind of Blue. I'm starting to actually purchase all of thise seminal jazz albums now instead of solely downloading them, which is nice, because mp3's of jazz typically suck.

I got Tori's new album (the limited edition w/ DVD). I listened to it once so far. I like it. I don't think you should judge the album on "A Sorta Fairytale", which is not that great.

I didn't even know there was a limited copy until after I bought the standard edition. I want one

now you need to namedrop an artist not dissimilar to stephen malkmus, but who is ultimately less-known.

+30 indie points for sean

Yeah, pretty much.

I'm not one of those kids who thinks Pavement is the greatest band of the Nineties. Far from it. But I do like them, and the chance to pick up something close to 50 songs by them for 15 bucks was too good to pass up.

Fuck both you. I'm sick of the constant AMG/Pitchfork and "indie cred" shit that has nothing to do with me.

You don't have to like Stephen Malkmus but Slanted and Enchanted doesn't suck. Hip.

Aww, chill out. I know it has nothing to do with it. I'm just poking fun at you; surely you recognize the irony in calling Pavement a hipster band.

Wait...you got the limited one too? Does Track 18 (Gold Dust) skip like mad on your copy or is it just mine? I don't want to have to return the fucking thing and I'm about 95% sure that it's not my CD player's fault.

Apparently some places in the US, like Circuit City, are selling the limited edition one for $11.99.

that's a decent price. there were only 2000 limited copies pressed over here, and they sell for US$20

How is the Tori DVD? Is it worth the extra $$?

Thanks for the advice Gav(and others). I'll probably pick up the limited one with DVD as it is cheap and Oh-So-Trendy for the CD/DVD combo thing. I really like this trend. I picked up QOTSA w/DVD for 6.99 and Dave Matthews w/DVD for 9.99. If record companies continue to put out CDs like this I will be buying alot more than before.

Word. It's nice to see something truly good come out of the mp3 controversy.
