Anthrax: We've Come For You All

check out the tune "Safe Home"

best rock album in 5 years. much more melodic than they've been previously (new singer helped a bunch).

the fact this album never gets mentioned much around here is curious...

What about black metal?

Try these bands:
Dimmu Borgir
Samael
Opeth
Bloodthirst

if you like the hardcore shit, then check out Coalesce like someone mentioned. I would also recommend the following:

Lamb of God
Atreyu
Dillinger Escape Plan

Also, it is absolutely necessary that you listen to these bands:

Nile
Neurosis

Sightings
Agoraphobic Nosebleed
Melt-Banana
(((Microwaves)))
Pink & Brown
Acid Mother's Temple on the Electric Heavyland album
Dillinger Escape Plan
Mastodon
Ruins
Lightning Bolt
Zeni Geva

there's some. but most of it is noise rock not metal. but it's good stuff and it's outside the norm.

i like a lot of other loud indie rock and heavy punk rock but i'm pretty sure that's not what you mean by "heavy shit"

i like heavy stuff when it's "smart" and doesn't cater to conventions. original. creative. noisy. you probably wouldn't like it!

Excellent stuff. Just got cellscape, really good album. Electric heavyland will have your ears bleeding, guitar mayhem galore. I'd recommend freedom bondage as startoff zeni geva album. Should listen some more to the ruins though....

Me too... the singer threw a monitor across the stage. They're playing here on Friday but I can't afford a ticket.

hell yeah. the only thing that worries me is that they have a new singer now. i've seen him in concert and he's pretty good. but i don't know much about his writing skills.

(edit) if you really like kse you should check out the other bands on my list kse is VERY influenced by bands like
dark tranquility
in flames
soilwork
