I voted absentee already because I don't live in the state I live. Yeah that makes sense. I tried to make some sense out of the referrendums and what not but, yeah, I guess it's wierd because that stuff is obvioulsy important but most of us are clueless about it.

I just voted because I hate Sen. Wellstone and I want him out of him out of office whether he has MS or not. I know that sounds bad but I just don't think he's done much for our state. He won't lose though.

I can't back the socialist state up, that's my opinion based on FBI survelience and the Office of Homeland Security being created. If you look back, it's been done in Nazi Germany and Communist Russia, just in different pretexts.

As far the democracy/republic thing: In a true democracy, each individual would vote on every piece of legislation.

However, we don't. We elect certain people to vote for us, because we possibly can't know what is best for ourselves or understand what all the bill or law or whatever it may be is talking about. Thus, representatives do it, thus the term "republic."

My bad, I thought you were referring tot he democracy part. A lot of my friends don't understand that.

As far as the socialist thing, I just really think America has moved into a tyrant of sorts. We are trying to be the police of the world. Getting invovled in places we have no business in, besides to promote our democractic ideals and better manage our imports for more money.

And like I said, the new programs Bush has approved have pushed it one step further. Are we a socialist state yet? Of course not, by no means. But, if things don't change, it wouldn't be out of the question in the next, oh, 20 years or so?

Just some ideas to ponder. But keep in mind I'm a cynic and overanalyze everything.
