that trailer kicks serious booty. the best part is when rage kicks in near the end.

I remember seeing that opening night for Star Wars: Ep. II. In a theatre full of sci-fi nerds EVERYBODY freaked when it came on. so cool and yet so uncool at the same time.

good html coding job show thingamajig.

Geekdom is a beautiful thing. And yes, I was there on Thursday also, watching the trailer with fellow potential fans.

I don't get what's so awesome about the Matrix. It looked sort of cool, but it didn't look cool enough to forgive the plotline.

i enjoyed the matrix very much. i don't understand this general backlash this movie gets. everybody i know thought this movie was the best movie ever right when it came out with no big buzz or press, when it was a sleeper. now when its all over with and the movie has made a bahgillion dollars, everybody now says its stupid. wtf.

the only thing that sucks is now after watching the matrix, all fight scenes in other movies are just fucking lame wannabes, blade 2 anybody?

so many movies aped the style of the matrix. i think they spent enough time on the next two that it will turn out alright. they could have rushed and gotten one of them out immediatly but they decided to wait. and whats even cooler is how they are releasing them. its one continuous story and the third comes out 6 months after the second.

the Matrix is all style. but it has some really great style. at heart is a big shockly homage to hong knog action movies, anime, comic books (the W. Bros said they were influened heavily by Frank Miller), the Terminator, William Gibson and a bit of religious overtones. You can sure look at it and make it seem heavy handed (which is a criticism that's probably vaild on some level) but I think its a very post-modern sci-fi epic. Take all of these pieces of popular geek culutre, mash it up into a blender & you have The Matrix.

its not the most orignial movie when you look at the plot but it has great style and meshes all of these different together in an interesting way. Which I think its great that its a hit, its a big buget geek movie at heart and when the general population plugged (excuse the pun) into it they hadn't seen all the bits and pieces of it before and they thought "wow, it was cool". its a movie for the geeks and nobody really knows that, which is why I dig it so much.
