Arrow doors appreciation thread.

today i was listening to KLOS (los angeles radio station), and they played a whole block of doors' songs. i cuaght the last half. it was awesome.
then afterwards they had an interview with the remaining members of the band, who are aparently getting back together and starting up a tour right now as we speak. i think they have already begun to play some shows. i am very curious to hear what they sound like without jim.
i know they have done a few projects since his death, and i didn't really like it all too much. but i am still curious about this new tour, nonetheless.
the doors are fucking awesome.

yeh. they've been on the road with ian astbury of the cult.

Ian is cool, but its weird having him sing doors' songs other than wild child.

they did some sort of free concert here at univ. of florida about a year ago. the band sounded ok i suppose but the whole idea of a Doors reunion trour minus Morrison is just fucking lame. I wouldn't have paid to see it. there was a pretty sparse crowd here as it was.

i also don't think i would ever pay to see it. however if i had the oppurtunity to hear it for free i think i would be there.
ian from the cult is better than scott stap from creed though, don't you think?
god, that mtv or vh1 special, whichever it was, was absolutely insulting. i think that morisson would be turning in his grave if he knew about that wannabe scott.

I bought LA woman and just couldn't get into it :erm. I feel like a bad classic rock music fan or something. Maybe I should give them another chance but save a few songs, they just don't move me.

Will John Densmore be a part of this? Either way, all the tour would be about is making money on Jim Morrison's cultish fame, while ruining the legacy of the small stack of songs that were actually good...

The Doors fucking rock...

The End, Riders on the Storm, Moonlight Drive, LA Woman... great songs, those.

I got to see Morrisons grave when I was in Paris. Sad, the state it is in, but it was great to see people paying respects 30 years later.

SO true. Why the heck would they really do that, to get out of the business with the least grace possible? get to producing, or something...work with a new band, but god, the Doors Storytelling VH1 (i think) think a couple of years ago, with all the guest singers, etc. was pretty crappy. I really wonder who'd go to those shows.
