Remember the drama of the Fiesta Bowl this year? Imagine 3 rounds of that. College football will be inferior to basketball until it gets a playoff.

right now you don't have teams pissed? upset that they lost their one game late in the season, as opposed to early...so they dropped further in the rankings? upset that they should be in the title game, and not a team that just got destroyed in their last game (hmm, oregon/nebraska anyone?). this opens it up to more teams having a title shot....and the other teams can still make their money in the other bowls. i see nothing negative ADDED by doing this. you're issues w/ the playoff system already exist with the current system.

To elaborate a bit...

...Teams that get left out of BCS bowls now don't get too much of a screw. I mean, they lose a lot of money and stuff, but at least they aren't losing a chance to play for the title. If you make BCS bids an automatic chance to play for the title, I think you'd have a lot more problems along those lines.

the whole thing is appalling. West Virginia's program is now going to be horrible right after they just rebuilt it.. Ticket sales are going to drop to nothing now and as neopryn said it is going to kill the hometowns of the remaining Big East teams. Yeah, fuck the acc...the whole thing is disgusting. And neopryn, pitt sucks.

They haven't sucked for like 5 years, and I've seen at least 10 major publications placing them between #9 and #12.

They're better than WVU, at least. Last year's debacle aside.
