well iwent thru that whole elementary and junior high school thing, were so and so were the best friends, and after them there was nobody else. once i hit high school i befriended a group of 5 friends and that was it...but nobody has the "best friend" title....then when i began college, i had a very close friend but we never admitted of being each others best friens....specially cos we would fight a lot, and there was a lot of sexual tension between us. *sigh* i miss him

Yeah, my boyfriend is my best friend, and the only separate "best-friendship" I can seem to maintain is from that is with a girl who lives about seven hours away and who feels the same way.

But her boyfriend hates me because she calls me whenever they have a fight and she's upset, and that makes me sad, because I like him.

They had a fight last night and he stormed out and said he wasn't coming back, and she called me from the car, panicking as she was driving around trying to find him. And now I'm worried because I haven't heard back from her and I'm afraid he really did leave or do something stupid and I feel bad because it was some advice I gave her while she crying on the phone that sorta kinda might have led indirectly to their fight, which doesn't make it my fault, because it would have happened anyway, but I still feel bad and hope everything is okay. Having any sort of best friend exposes you to this kind of shit, but I've decided that's okay because she's worth it.

i had one then he went off to college when i was a sophomore in HS. we hardly saw each other and we became increasingly distant. Our relationship at this point in time reminds me of "1984" where the main character meets up with his girlfriend after the thought police release them after beating the shit out of both of them. yeah, thats what its like- we dont hate each other, but we both know itll never be the same. but now hes moved to Sudan permanently so thats the end of that i suppose

i've got like 15 girlfriends that i hang out with pretty much every weekend when school is in session, some of them i consider pretty close. no guys at my school associate with me, really, excpet the 2 that stalk(ed) me, so i dunno.

That's sort of similar to me; my best friend is mostly by title only as I've known her for 15 years. I do love her, but we are SO different (me= agnostic atheist rock chick etc., she= southern baptist country and gospel grits lover lol) that sometimes it is difficult for idea sharing and all sorts of things I'm picky about. My guy friends that I've known since 8th grade are awesome, but some of their homophobic patriotic Christian views grate me. And others I haven't seen in several years. I would say that I have 3 best friends. We don't live anywhere near each other. But we always take trips to visit each other and e-mail and call all the time. They know more about my day-to-day life than my friends that actually live near me.
