Question Should I take a flight with Alitalia?

I really don't know, the flight to Buenos Aires would cost me 400 $ less than if I took a flight with Iberia, but with all their strikes and financial problems Alitalia has got, should I risk it? All flights to Argentina are pretty packed and it looks like that if Alitalia would not fly and they'll give me my money back, I could not find any other flight with some free seats this summer...
Is there anyone who follows airlines' stuff more closely, so who could tell me how bad Alitalia's financial problems really are?
Thanks

NO! they are the worst airline ever. ever! out of the 20 members of my family that flew to italy a few weeks ago they lost about 6 pieces of luggage. the flight attendants are mean and not very helpful. my sister and her husband were only able to come back from their honeymoon because he threatened the desk clerk. the strike started that morning and all the flights were cancelled but one. look into other options.

Thanks a lot for the advice - I am really thinking about it...six pieces of luggage lost - wow - and I should transfer in Rome, so they would really have an occasion to mix it up...
