As made evident by KrazeePumpkin's argument in this thread, some of the side effects of ecstacy use dillusions of self worth. distorted self image and thinking prolonged ecstacy use does not make your brain look like swiss cheese.

mostly because the ideals and morals associated with the rave scene i was introduced to have changed so incredibly much, that while on the outside they would appear as the same thing, but the inner workings of it just make it feel different. I'd love to have them the way they were "Before" but im not too much of a fan for things that sit idle and would have probably gotten bored with them quick.
it's very rare i attend a party nowadays and get reminded of what it used to be like awhile ago, it does happen on occasion, but i can always walk around and see how much irresponsibility is playing a giant factor them them, im not saying it didnt before, but now moreso than usual.
subcultures have begun to form also within this culture, and everyone is seperating themselves whether it be from elitism or fear of rejection, some familiar faces from 6 years ago now refuse to attend a party unless they're playing *so and so genre*.

so yes, people still dress like idiots and dance around all cutesy. but it isnt because they're part of the culture at all, mostly for nostalgic value and denial that they're "lifestyle" is accepted by everyone else, when in fact they dont have a lifestyle and fiend for their next pill at the next big drug fest.
