if you like the Datsuns and maybe the White Stripes check 'em out, yr'll prolly like. Yeah I know it's "another one of those retro bands" but I don't think these are no Strokes-type bullshit, not from first impression anyway.

There's 3 songs on their site www.kingsofleon.com and I managed to find a dozen mp3s on Soulseek if anyone's interested.

Well, they're nothing even close to The Datsuns in sound, nor The White Stripes and I don't think they're "retro" - whatever that is. I would compare them more to an early Tom Petty and The Heartbreakers or a country-tinted STP with a lead singer who sounds like Nato Cash.

As far as quality, I think their EP was great, but their upcoming album is not as impressive. I'd like to know why Graveflower thinks they're awful - what's so terrible?

You know, these guys would be a lot better if it wasn't for the lead singers rat voice. That's probably a silly thing to say on a Smashing Pumpkins forum, but it's not even a good rat voice. This is based on them opening for Ben Kweller in D.C. last month.
