I have a throat infection for which I'm taking amoxacillin, its much better then a couple days ago though, when I couldn't swallow anything without a lot of pain.

but since i have minor, mine isn't anything at all. the only things that actually happen to me because of it is:
i can't donate blood/marrow (well i can but they will throw it away)
if i were to go hiking up in high elevations i would faint before any of you (tiny red blood cells)
the doctors always think i am anemic (but i am NOT!)
i can't take iron suppliments at all (so no multi vitamins. i have to take childrens vitamins)
i can't have malaria vaccinations, or malaria treatments (but supposedly i am also immune to getting malaria?!?!?)
if i try to have children with someone who also has thalessemia, or if that person has blood type C (old skool meassurements, blood types A, B, C instead of A, B, AB, O) i wouldn't be able to concieve children and if i did, they would be gaurenteed to get thalessemia major and would need a blood transfussion every week.
mine never bothers me though, no symptoms no nothing.
i had a great uncle who died when he was two years old. they think it's because he had thalesemia major and no one knew about it. apparently it is something they have only begun to study recently.
but apparently the form of minor that i have is very rare (the lepore trait part). when i got the blood test done for it the lab they sent it to held onto my blood for two extra weeks before they handed me back the results. they were poking at my blood and studying it and shit. freaky.

No offense to anyone, but I believe most "ailments" are just excuses for failure and under-performance.

It's like hypocondriacs ... they really don't have any problems, but feel they must simply because they can not output as much information as the person next to them.

No, not really. Everyone who has posted has serious ailments. However, like someone mentioned, many people today blame any negative feeling or action on a disease, sickness or some-such.

I know a girl who claims to suffer from manic depression, simply because she says one day she is happy, and the next upset about something. She went as far as going to see a doctor, who said "You're just a normal girl."

Like I said, I'm not trying to be offensive toward anyone who have legit problems, like most. But, it's the select few that turn me off on many of them.

I have a lazy eye. Can only use one actively at a time. nearsighted, 5 eye surgeries, wore an eyepatch when i was little (*arrrrr*) I have no depth perception

I tore my ACL, MCL, and meniscus cartilage in my knee a year and a half ago. got surgery but my knee bends slightly sideways as if it were lose

mental problems. all my family has been on or is on meds (i'm not at the moment). i got put on them after an incident where i ended up in the hospital for 2 days. blargh.

digestive problems. I think i'm allergic to gluten/have celiac disease. My uncle has it, and its genetic. i get ill from eating lots of carbs, and am a frequent pottier (who does #2 work for?) until i went on a low carb diet.

allergies, excema (when i was younger), and i sweat a lot. i'm gross. and i get ingrown toenails.

i have lots of little problems but nothing to complain about really.

i have pretty severe juvenile (or is it young adult now?) arthritis in my hands and so they look crippled.

bad eczema that at its worst runs from my wrist to my shoulders. big ugly welts. i have miracle drugs though.

i'm one step away from being legally blind. if you take my glasses away the world is one big blob.

when i was a dancer i had alot of problems with my knees. that's gone now.

right now i'm very sunburned but that should go away within a few hours.

Default well...

When I was little, I had jaundice, I had capillaries which burst in my leg causing paralyzation, and I had a brain infection which made me lose the ability to walk....recovered from all of them though, lucky for me...

Currently (19yrs), I have a knee which is chronically in pain and eyes which are really weak 20..300 I think

Other than that I'm fine, and that's not currently much when you think about it...

Hmm. I have a cold right now that I can't seem to get rid of.

I have a lazy eye, and had to wear glasses when I was 5-9yrs old, then they told me it couldn't be corrected and wouldn't get any better, so I don't wear any sort of glasses or contacts - although I'm setting up an appointment with an eye dr. soon because I have trouble seeing at night The only noticable thing besides having trouble seeing while driving at night and such, is if I close my left eye, I can still see with my right eye, it's just uber dim and faded.

Um.. I have really high cholestrol, at least I did back in October, but I weight 50lbs less than I did then... so... I don't know if it's still as high as it was.

I still have about another 40lbs to go until I'm at my "target" weight.

Umm... really I guess that's it. I'm uber stressed out - but that's not really a medical thing.

you're talking about spruu- aren't you? where your body thinks gluton is an infection so it attacks it in the intestines, but instead of actually attacking the gluton it just ends up attacking the celia that is trying to absorb it?
my grandpa had that. they opened him up and he had no celia left in his intestines at all, so they replaced his colon with a plastic one, thinking it would help :erm

Physically I'm alright. I have some allergies which kick my ass every once in a while, but my limbs work properly and everything.

On the other hand, I appear outgoing socially and moderately content a good deal of the time, but that appearance only masks the reality that my self-confidence is shit and I'm actually very unhappy.

Hey thumbs up on your weight loss too! 20lbs isn't that much, I'm sure you can do that with little trouble.

Thanks! It seems like these last few are the hardest but I feel so much better physically then when I started already. Good luck meeting your goal, I'm sure you'll be there in no time
