Yeah, us San Diegans are definitely being ass-raped. And I don't care if the US is "still the cheapest in the world" or whatever, compared to the rest of the US, we're still getting assraped. Last time I filled up it was $1.45 a gallon - I went to the convience store yesterday and it was $1.32 - so annoying!

Yeah, I can recall 99 cents. On the east coast, we had Sunoco stations that would have 6 grades of gas. "Economy" (probably like 79 octane) was like 75 cents per gallon... which really wasn't that bad considering the piece of shit I drove at the time.

As for the hybrids.. that's nice in theory, and I have considered it, but they're pretty expensive, really ugly, and not easily located by the dealers.
