billy apparently doesn't have much need for bass... he needs girl bassists for live shows, preferably good looking (he struck gold with melissa... he did alright with paz... and i guess he just kinda settled with d'arcy) so there is something there to distract the crowd from the fact that he doesn't seem to have a clue what it means to sing in key.

That's the pic I saw that made me post this thread. I mean, I guess it's not terribly essential to have bass on "Of a Broken Heart," but then, I don't know how essential it is to have three guitar players for that song, either. And considering that they've got at least 3 other people qualified to play the bass (I'm just assuming that, even though he can play guitar, and, thus, bass as well, Drums are too important to consider Jimmy for the job), I was curious.

on "of a broken heart" and "friends and lovers" paz plays violin and there is no bass. on the newer version of "don't let me down," paz plays keyboard and pajo plays bass.

billy plays both guitar and bass (he played on parts of the sp albums, while d'arcy did all the touring bass (until melissa)

sweeney, as far as i know, plays only guitar.

pajo does guitar, bass, keyboards, and harmonica.

paz does bass and violin.

jimmy, to my surprise plays drums. guitar, and bass.

They both play some drums as well. Pajo has been drumming for The Children's Hour (Zwan's opening act) at several recent shows. Sweeney played drums at 4-10-2002, during the Egypt Jam.

actually, pajo sweeney and billy can all play pretty much every "live" instrument, being guitar bass drums and piano. I'd give Pajo the benefit of the doubt on a lot more than just that, he really is a musical genius.

Thanks for clearing that up. I hear the SPFC is looking for a new biographer. You might want to check that out.
