do ppl still use torrent sites to download stuff?

I always did, but there aren't many possibilities anymore, it seems. there are these sketchy Pirate Bay proxy sites, but they seem to be down a lot of the time. anyone know a better alternative?

we have Netflix, but not everything is on Netflix, and I'm a cheapskate.

the bay proxy i've been using has been pretty reliable - more so than the actual TPB ever was, tbh

haven't checked to see if apollo ever got back up & running but I can PM you the prox link

I'm on what.cd but I don't have any invites unfortunately. I think you may need to have a good ratio for that and mine is below .5

Yeah I used to be a member of What.cd but I didn't use it for over 3 months and they freeze your account and I never bothered to appeal it. It's hard to keep your ratio up there.

i don't even really pirate movies anymore. i sometimes check on hpn if they have a new movie i'm interested in, in the dropbox.

music, i still use newalbumreleases and slsk because i'm old.

e-books, i use either the hpn thread or lib.gen

i pirate movies when i absolutely have to, honestly now that I think about it that and occasionally tv show episodes (Curb Your Enthusiasm Season 9 comes to mind) are essentially all I use torrent for anymore

& i coulda sworn what.cd was shut down at least a year ago - Apollo was a pretty good alternative but it looks like that one may be gone now as well

I did a lot of torrenting, especially music, until I moved back in with my parents, where my set up wasn't really feasible. I had a separate computer which I used as a torrent box and a media server. Now I've moved out again and I've just taken the media storage drive out of that computer and put it in my main one. I can't be bothered setting it up again because probably the day I set it up, I'll move out of this homely shit hole and have to pack it all down again.

RED, PTP and BTN are the main trackers I use... or used. I got on BTN and 99% of the shit I downloaded was by the request of my now ex-girlfriend. I rarely watch any TV shows to justify even using it any more. My flatmates have Netflix so if I have anyone over, it's far more convenient to just throw some non-obscure shit on there.

I'm on a couple others which are a little more niche, like Zomb, Dime a Dozen, Shellife, and ruTracker, which is a reasonably decent general tracker, but unless you know Russian, you have to use Chrome's in-built page translation feature.
