Guys, you are doing it wrong. If you match with 100 people and message half of them, probably only 20 will respond and you'll only wind up going out with 1 or 2 people out of that. Imagine it more like it's a big room of people running around speed dating, except they are literally allowed to get up and leave after any amount of time, and there is an infinite flood of people there, as in more than you could possibly ever even say hello to. It takes persistence to make a connection on tinder IME.

also yes real things do develop from tinder, I know a lot of people who met their s/os on tinder. I think the perception of tinder as a hookup app is not even really correct. Most people seem to be there to fuck around, some others to date, and maybe a small percentage are actually looking to GET LAID TONIGHT.
