When I was a child (I was adorable btw, asian ppl always thought i was a girl) someone told me a story about a kid who got her hair stuck in the escalator and how her scalp got torn off. shit freaked me out. for years i would step on and off the escalator with great care.

i was a cowardly child.

I walk fast and get stuck behind people on sidewalks very frustrating

though it's worse when I'm driving and a pedestrian is not using the sidewalk at all I don't understand that

Heh this happens to me all the time (the walking not the driving since I perambulate). I have a gigantic stride and I walk all fuckin day so I just zoom about. the worst is ppl walking their dogs. all of a sudden there's this long haired sable clad freak behind them and the hound is baying and i am smiling and trying to pet it and the owner is all like omg wtf...

sometimes I just cross over to the other sidewalk or walk in the road to bypass them. sigh what a life.

I used to be terrified of tripping on them and getting stuck underneath (lol) too.....I'd wait for the bottom stair to pass like seven times before getting on and only then with a knuckle-whitening grip on the railing. wuss

there are a ton of escalator and elevator deaths in china (from malfunctions). if i am ever over there i am always taking the stairs
