I work in EMS and was in a Wawa about a month ago picking up lunch at work when some lady I vaguely recognized came up to me and said, "Do you remember me?" And I honestly did not until after we chatted. Long story short, she was a patient I had transported about a year ago to the local psychiatric crisis center for a voluntary committal. I guess we chatted on the way there and she said that she felt so relieved when she got to the crisis center than when we went en route. She said I told her that she had done the hardest part and asked for help, that everything from that time on would be easier, and that I knew she could handle it. Then she cried and hugged me in the middle of a Wawa. It was the best feeling ever, especially also being somebody who struggles with depression and knows how overwhelming and isolating it can feel.

I've never heard this expression until a friend I have from Scotland said I must be absolutely chuffed about how beautiful my daughter is (she's far prettier than me, luckily).
