I won't presume to be able to tell you when it's appropriate to point out someone's race because it's important to the topic, since I do not have to deal with discrimination the same way you do. I disagree. People are allowed to have preferences and transgenderism (is this the correct word?) is just now being accepted as scientifically and socially valid. Maybe when it is as "normal" socially as being gay this would be more true. But when you grow up thinking it's weird and a dealbreaker because society says so it's not so easy to change that automatic mindset.

This is still a red herring btw. However I think your position on transgender issues is actually a lot different than TOC, and it won't get you banned. He absolutely had a problem with letting people live how they want, even though he gave lip service to not caring, and he used hate speech. I don't like your opinion and I think it comes from a place of ignorance but not hate.

It's still a rather new phenomenon though in terms of the medical procedures, so we'll see how it all pans out. I guess the simple point that I'm trying to make is that I don't think skepticism should be so lambasted around here or in society as a whole. I think at least a certain level of skepticism is healthy when it comes to procedures that are really quite new (especially when children are becoming increasingly involved). There's not a lot of data on how people feel or how they're reacting 10-20 years down the line so it's ignorant to conclude that it's already such a black and white discussion.

We know a family from the North East, near Nepal. They don't look white but I was surprised to learn they are Indian by nationality. I thought from looking at them that they were maybe Malaysian.
