I had my first therapy appointment in 3 weeks on Thursday. I told him I was having a pretty bad time and there were a lot of things I needed to start explaining which I had been avoidant about previously. He said this was totally normal and I explained in a basic sense that all these relationships had been going on at the same time, that I had lied about my friend who I'm going crazy over... it'll take time for him to know your life like you do, but the more you see him the more he'll 'get it'. he doesn't really need to have the whole narrative of everything to understand and to help, though. but it is pretty cool when i bring up people and things that happened and my therapist seems to be able to put it into context for me just because she knows my 'story' so well. sometimes she's off base and what she says is unhelpful but most of the time i'm grateful that she actually pays attention and really seems to understand the dynamics of my life, sometimes more than i do. but i've spent like... probably like 400 hours with her lol, over 6 years. damn that's a lot of time. ptsd is whack

the closest i came was saying if you saw someone was flying, and you're like that can't be something else must be going on. so you search for other possibilities. are they being held up by something? do they have some kind of jetpack? are they actually just skydiving? and then you start questioning yourself: am i imagining this? am i dreaming?

but then you find out, no they're just able to fly. and you have to deal with this whole paradigm shift that some people can fly, they really can just fly.

I never had a full on hangover. Occasionaly I wake up feeling slightly nauseous after a night of heavy drinking. But usually i'm back to full force in like 30 mins to 1 hour.

When I first started drinking as a teen it went bad real fast. I did a lot of stupid shit and ended up almost hitting my mom, which was super scary to me almost losing control like that. I stopped drinking for a while after that.

It was only a few years ago that I started reintroducing alcohol in my life. And now i'm better at pacing myself, but also I don't ever drink alone, outside a party context or keep alcohol in the house.
