ok first of all... political science is not "science" in the way that scientists use the term science. if you're talking about science, i.e. the study of the physical properties of the world, that is something that is tested and reproducible results are important and in fact the core of science.

second, global warming from a scientific perspective has been confirmed over and over with statistical techniques and experimental findings. it's not a debate in the scientific field, whatsoever. global warming as a political talking point to make the debate that we shouldn't take better care of the planet is totally removed from what science actually says about the topic. it's a moral judgement that is sometimes dressed up as scientific when in fact it's a behavioral manifestation of people too self-centered and/or too focused on being elected by people who are too self-centered to take the time to actually understand the science

I tried listening to the jurassic park audiobook earlier this year, I walk a lot so I thought maybe it would be nice to get some "reading" done while at it.

But turns out I hate the way they narrate audiobooks

I'm not sure why anybody would read Jurassic Park when the Crichton-based alternative is Eaters of the Dead.

You can picture Antonio Banderas delivering a tour de force performance as you thumb your way through page after page of culturally informative excitement.

I hate audiobooks.

I remember liking Jurassic Park and the sequel a lot, but I read them when I was in 8th grade

I read both books when I was in high school.
Started reading them because I loved the movies, and remember being really surprised at how savage the book got.

Yeah I read the book for a 6th grade report, it was admittedly a little beyond my grasp a lot of the time. I remember some passage where it talked about turtles (I think) having sex in graphic detail which was a bit too much for me at that age, but I didn't have a problem with the violence
