I don't know enough about Star Trek to get those references.

Even though there has been more conflict on the boards within the last week or so, I don't really mind because it feels like it's (mostly) directed at the correct people.

This is necessary for the Kindness Regime's survival. This is the Kindness Regime protecting itself.

If you seek kindness, prepare for grumpiness.

right see with star trek deep space nine we're protecting luxury space communist utopia from fucking fascists man and the luxury space communists are all about hugs and peace and love and kinda get their asses handed to them because they're flabby and whiny about having to punch a fascist right in the mouth, and that's what sisko does.

i think you would have to like star trek first to watch ds9, but its a prescient series. I watched an episode called "Waltz" wherein Gul Dukat perfectly embodies the alt right. He's this great big Nazi, right? Absolutely huge Nazi, but he's a big fucking baby who wants people to love him and they don't so he's forced to be cruel!

also iggy pop guest stars in a later episode

One of my pitfalls is I buy too much stuff. Just little things here and there. If it wasn't that it would be big purchases. I need to be more stingy

DS9 definitely gets better to me as it goes on, which is a welcome reversal from many shows in which the quality drops precipitously after the beginning.

except fuck season 7 dax I will never accept her

it really does, and i think its strongest 4-5-6 tho i haven't watched 7 but it's much more consistent than TNG & VOY. Like when DS9 sucks its usually just boring instead of being cringey or weird like the first two seasons of TNG. granted i haven't watched profit & lace yet. I also have loved every farengi & quark episode there has been so far. especially the one where the negis comes out of the wormhole talking about giving people stuff and bringing joy & happiness so Quark meets with the wormhole aliens to reverse it, because it is terrible.

TNG is good from 3-6 and some parts of 7

You mean you aren't interested in boomboxes that come packaged with the complete Green Day discography?

TNG is just very inconsistent. Pretty much every season has some very good and very bad episodes, but generally I agree with you.

DS9 is a head above all the others, but I do like them all except Enterprise which to me had nothing redeeming and I gave up after the first season and a half

I've recently picked up a bendy "Spike" from Gremlins and a still boxed Posh-Spice barbie doll... I never thought I'd end up buying a "doll" but this... This I couldn't resist!

Naturally, it'll be worth much less as a single doll.

You'll want to head on over to eBay to pick up the set as soon as humanly possible.

4 & 6 both get pretty close to being good all the way through

only simpsons have ever been able to be excellent for like 100+ episodes in a row

i still feel like TNG is more official because its more of the exploration tradition that is truly star trek & patrick stewart being seriously fucking incredible as an actor i just can't believe the emotional intensity of that fucking guy its beyond me, because even as good as anyone else is they are never as good as him, not even close.

many of both DS9 & TNG's best moments come from the same man: ronald d moore. watch the credits!

The guy at the booth also had Scary Spice and Sporty Spice, but Posh was always my favorite growing up, so it was a justified purchase.

Although, if they would have had Ginger I probably would have bought that too, and perhaps even Baby spice.

man......... can you guys be any bigger fucking nerds?

Jesus Christ

If you guys were into an interest that was perhaps a little more social you wouldn't feel so isolated all of the time.

From what I gather for Trotsky it's video games and obscure Star Trek seasons... That's just super dumb shit to be into.

I'm sorry to be a dick. And while most people probably bite their tongue in public while you guys are blabbing about this- what I posted is what they're thinking.

Self awareness is key to a healthy state of mind.

No I'm actually straight edge right now...

But come on man, I'm here observing a bunch of grown men conversing about a bunch of long forgotten, failed Star Trek spin-offs... Though I do like you guys, it does comes off as a bit pathetic.

Fuzzy talks about buying a pop-group action figure and then complains about people liking sci-fi television half-a-dozen posts later.

a proud alcoholic and gambling addict who collects novelty food items from decades past is telling me I am pathetic for liking a hugely popular tv show because it's "nerdy"

yeah ok
