I think I hope you are trolling. When you were talking about a species of vermin and pests that deserves eradication I thought you were talking about humans.

i was born in the year of the rat. when my boss (who is super cute btw and was also born in the year of the rat) asked me to put traps for mice in pur hotel I told her I would probably end up helping them to escape. she did it herself.

FTR I think most "pet" species should be outlawed. Any type of fish, bird, reptile, rodent or cat.

My opinion is that these animals are an environmental disaster. Some species, like tropical birds, reptiles and fish, are illegally trafficked all over the world. Some are nearly extinct in their native habitats because horrible fucking people want a bird in a cage in their apartment.

Some of these animals are environmental disasters because they inevitably become feral and destroy native ecosystems. Like rabbits and cats, for instance. There is barely a place on earth today where cats are not obliterating native birds and small animal species. Just ask the Australians about rabbits.

The issue isn't that "responsible" pet owners aren't guilty of the negative environmental impact of all these pets. The issue is that no matter how responsible most people are all it takes is one shit head to let loose two rabbits and they can destroy a continent. Likewise, despite millions of responsible cat owners, all the so-called outside cats and feral cats in North America kill tens of millions of wild birds every year.

These animals shouldn't be legally allowed as pets. They belong either wild or farmed for food or in a research lab for the good of humanity or left in the wild if they belong there

Dogs are vermin in some parts of the world. I took (hiho!) Aravis (half shepherd. half desert dog) on a walk around Riyadh once. I never did it again. The whole neighborhood of boys came out to throw stones at us. I got pissed and started cussing lol remembered where I was and beat a hasty retreat.

Technically no, they're not vermin. Not under the definition of the word. But unlike some other pet species they can be easily controlled. I've been to many countries where dogs are everywhere in city streets. It's typically a problem in developing countries where there are a LOT of other big infrastructure problems. In Vietnam last year I saw street vendors selling puppies for food, along with live ducks and chickens.

IMO regulations on dog ownership in the USA is still way too lenient. I'd support strict restrictions on ownership of dogs. Here in our country I would support outlawing most dog breeding and very strict licensing of dogs as pets. Most of the US has pretty good animal (stray dog) control. The main reason for strays here is the fact that people don't spay/neuter their dogs and there are tens of thousands of people breeding dogs in their homes for sal (because people are sacks of shit and think they need to buy a dog that looks a certain way). Outlaw that and crack down hard on the people who break the law and there would be virtually no stray dog problem. AND we wouldn't have to euthanize millions of them either.

the worst thing that happened to dogs was the explosion of different breeds that started in the 1800s strictly for making dogs that fit the fashion of the time. That's completely different from the prior thousands of years of dogs being bread specifically for working purposes, ie hunting and farm work.

There is no fucking reason that anybody should be breeding bull dogs, for example. Just like pugs, boston terriers, etc. Those poor things are genetic and medical disasters, and many of them suffer a lot because of how fucked up their heads/faces are.
