Was gonna go out camping for the first time, but it looks like it'll rain so that got cancelled. Going to a friend's party instead, there'll be few people there I think it'll be fun.

Yes, I got a "date"

My resolution for the new year is enjoying everything to the fullest extent possible cause it can be gone at any moment.

i'm having a self doubty kinda day. having lots of those lately. pretty much spent my day posting on netphoria.

the theme for my life for a good few months now has been tradeoff between occasional incredible days with truly great and unforgettable experiences, and lumps of entire days feeling lost and vaguely depressed cause i don't really feel much of anything anymore tbh.

no real plans for new year's. gonna have a hot pot dinner with some friends, then some of them are gonna go to some outrageously expensive club for the new year's celebration and i might smoke some weed with another friend who's gonna pass on that as well. not really what i'd like, but those are my options so i'll go with it because it beats being alone. i can't complain about female attention atm but it seems like i'm not going to have a date. not that it matters much, really.

i can't even start thinking about resolutions because it involves thinking critically about my life and that might make way for a flood i invest a great deal energy into suppressing.

Probably nothing. Every time I go out for NY I hate it, every time I stay in, it's fantastic.

Last year I was in a small town watching Andre Rieu live in Maastricht because that's what was on TV after the terrible Sydney NYE coverage, and it was about as good as it ever gets, in terms of bringing in the new year.

Resolving to love myself more and more properly so I can begin to love others truly. Realize lots of my projected angst stems from a fundamental spite toward myself. Trying to recognize this story of shame/spite in all its manifestations and shake it off more quickly.

Also gonna try to b more humble and open and listen more to others, versus current habit of swiftly categorizing everything folks say into my own prefab boxes/holes

I will be at my friend's place, she's having a small party.

my resolution is basically to continue analyzing my life critically and figuring out what I want to hold onto going forward and what is baggage I need to let slip

/saturn return things

No date, probably my friends house nearby, quit smoking cigarettes and less weed, more working out, generally more healthy habits. Hopefully move out. My brother is the biggest imbecile in the world and I can't stand living with him. I'm pretty sure if I move out and never hear from him again, I would be totally fine with it.

Also, my New Year's resolution/goals are to hunker down and save some serious money (to prepare for the day that my dog passes and I can then afford to make a drastic change in my life) and read at least one book. Seriously. I didn't read a single book last year. Talk about soul-crushing

I wanna move to Seattle and do...whatever. I don't even care. I've just always been drawn to the West Coast, but I hate the heat, so no Cali for me.

Yeah, I mean it's still a fantasy at this point, but it's also something I've been dreaming about for at least the last decade. I even almost convinced my ex-wife to go along with it sometime around 2010.

Really, once my dog dies, I will have no real tangible ties or responsibilities to my current location. Yes, I have a girlfriend, but our relationship has been a slow-burning one. She might even be keen to move with me, seeing as how her daughter goes off to college next year.

I dunno. It's just good to have dreams. And in the meantime, I want to store as much money as I can while I can.

I hope fuzzy bet bit on FSU today. If so it will be a good year for him. Or at least a good tomorrow, before he gambles away the winnings.

It would be too much of a pain to move a 14 and a half year old dog to a new city while I try to adjust and have a life. As it is, I can't really leave him alone at night in my apartment lest he bark and cry and annoy the neighbors all night.

My life right now revolves around him, and I am okay with that. But once he's gone, all bets are off. I really wanna try and do something I've never done before and spread my wings, so to speak.
