The mother was the second shooter on the grassy knoll with Ted Cruz's father.

Most four year olds could get through there in under a minute. But it comes down to willingness - most four year olds would not be interested in doing that. But there is that tiny minority that are interested, and for them, it would happen in under 30 seconds. Both my kids are like that.

I took my eye off my then 18 month old, to help the 4.5 year old in the bathroom. I knew what my kids were like, so after 30 seconds, I ran out of the bathroom to see what he was up to. In that time he had walked to the kitchen, pulled open the oven, climbed on to the open oven door and used it to climb up onto the stove top, and when I found him, he was turning the dials. People whose kids are not climbers just don't get it. It's a compulsion they have to explore their physical surroundings, and unless you teach them specifically about something, they don't know to avoid it.

No parent is going to think to say, see this barrier? Don't climb through here and through the shrubs, because you'll fall through to the moat on the other side.

Well, I mean...they will now lol

I do think the fact that gorillas are black counts against them.

someone should say it: by the display of inadequacy of his parents, perhaps one less offspring to that family tree wouldn't be so catastrophic

I don't have the same level of empathy for other animals that I do for humans and I think you are a little scary if you do

I dunno, sounds like something somebody might have said a hundred years ago, but more like:

I don't have the same level of empathy for other races that I do for ours and I think you are a little scary if you do

It's a ludicrous argument from a practical standpoint. What value do gorillas add to society? What diseases have they cured? What work do they accomplish? Why do we even allow them to live? What's your attachment to gorillas where you value them so highly over humans when they've never done anything under their own power for us? Name one productive gorilla who went out and got a job and did something. You can't. It's creepy, your obsession and defense of a bunch of shiftless primates.

Explain yourself. So far you've stated that purely from a supply point of view gorillas are more valuable than humans, but I see no demand for gorillas in society, aside from being a circus show.

Obviously if the kid were white the b0lly!!1 would not be so upset that a useless gorilla got shot for rampaging around mercilessly with a child in its hands.

It's not that gorillas have done a whole lot, but we have learned that reducing biodiversity hasn't worked out that well for us, and in their natural environment, they have been part of a pretty stable ecosystem for a long time.

You speak of humans as if we're all contributing positively. Most of us just consume and create waste. And our enormous population is the number one threat to all life on earth right now. So as a species, we can afford to lose a couple.

From a biological, scientific standpoint.

I guess from the standpoint of a middle manager at a bank who just got married and moved to the suburbs and is contemplating having kids in a world that already has too many humans, and who lives within driving distance of the zoo where the incident occurred, it might seem otherwise.

Just a guess...

But that doesn't make anyone right or wrong about this. Just colours people's perspectives a bit differently, maybe.

Average dollar value a human has added to the world in USD still infinity times higher than any gorilla.

We've studied them - they didn't study themselves and offer up the data for us. We did it. They never did anything but sit there and let us look at them. Harambe could've been a delicious meal afterward, but that's about it - and even still a human would've had to prepare him with the proper cooking and seasoning techniques.

When the entirety of gorilladom lands an astrogorilla on the Moon, we'll talk. Until then, all any gorilla has ever done is consume and create waste.

gorillas most certainly do not "create waste". they fertilize the land by pooping and leaving food trails.

but hey, let's all thank the guards for shooting down a rare and incredible animal so that humanity can have another grocery shopper to litter the earth with shopping bags and plastic sixpack holders

Stupid gorillas can't even invent plastic. Shows what they know. When an asteroid comes to wipe us all out, you can ask the gorillas for their fertilizer.

Gorilladom hasn't done these things - but then it hasn't changed the climate and weather pattersn of the entire planet, hunted many species to extinction, dumped so much plastic in the oceans that it is turning up in fish guts and on pacific island beaches. Gorilladom hasn't deforested ancient rainforest to plant monocultures of grass, maize and soy, and have genetically modified, methane-producing cows graze.

I think an outsider, who had no attachment to humanity, would say that the planet would be better off without humans, if it was a choice between us and the gorillas.

Are you and Mrs Pedovamp not planning to have any, to fill your house in the suburbs? What are you going to do with your spare bedrooms? It's not like you play an instrument or anything is it? You just gonna fill them up with penthouse mags and guns? Stay classy, duo.

Gorilladom has pooped in a forest, and that's literally their only accomplishment. When an asteroid or invading extraterrestrial race comes along, the gorillas will poop in the forest while we save this entire planet, as per Armageddon and Independence Day.

Still worried about that enclosure, y'all. When you make it, you gotta assume more than half your visitors (prob a lot more than that) gonna b tiny tots that want nothing more than to give harambe a big cuddly hug

Shouldn't have been so easy for this kid to get in there. Eyewitnesses say it happened like a flash, and I believe em. Whoever was saying it must have took this kid 10 minutes has never spent any quality time being responsible for a hyperactive kid

See Vix's story re burners = this is entirely accurate in my experience
