Yes, with William DuVall in place of Staley, though Jerry Cantrell still carries most of the songs with DuVall relegated to back-up/harmonies. Last of My Kind is the only song on the album with DuVall on leads.

2013, The Devil Put Dinosaurs Here. Kind of one-dimensional compared to BGWTB, but still good stuff.

Weren't you like four-years-old when Cobain died?

Cantrell was really the core of the band anyway. I think for casual fans the distinctiveness and power of Staley's voice WAS Alice in Chains, but it was always Cantrell's band.

Yes and no. I mean, technically, Staley founded the band (originally known as Alice N' Chainz, I shit you not). Cantrell was the brain with Staley being the heart. Most of their stuff was a 60/40 trade-off with Cantrell taking the lead more often than not. But a big part of their appeal were the harmonies between the two, something which DuVall and Cantrell pull off surprisingly well (saw them in 2010, fantastic show).

Really though, without Staley's presence, I have to wonder if they would've ever made it as big as they did. I mean, his performance on Man In The Box alone was enough to blow people's hair back when it came out.

yeah agreed he had a very powerful presence and that voice is like from another world.

I thought Staley was in a different band he called Alice in Chains when he was younger, and then he suggested the name again when the "real" AIC was forming. Maybe I am remembering that wrong.

Yes and I could never get into the Foos because of it. All my favorite authors died before I was born too but I still spitefully hated what I considered to be knock-off versions of their work, as well. I think I've grown up so much.

They used to go by Alice N'Chains and yes it was glam rock

Foo Fighters are so different from Nirvana though. I mean, it's not as if Krist and Dave carried Nirvana on with a different vocalist.

I mean, sure. There's a bunch of reasons to not like Foo Fighters (I happen to love 'em) but it seems kind of silly to write them off because of Kurt's death. Like nobody in that band is allowed to carry on a career just because their singer died?

Yeah, I think you may be right. The history seems a little muddled but a quick glimpse at Wik N' Pedia seemingly confirms this.

It is totally silly. I mean I've heard their songs it's unavoidable but was never inspired to hear more than the singles. Plus I think Grohl could have played the drums better on the songs I do know. Living in the past before my past

The self-titled is a little Nirvana-ish. And Grohl plays all the instruments, for what it's worth.

I mean, not seeing Super Troopers never hurt anyone either, but I'm still glad the time and resources were spent making it.

Really can't go wrong with the self-titled or TCATS. 90s radio-rock at its finest. Come on, where's fuzzy to back me up on this?

The only Broken Lizard production I was able to stomach was Puddle Cruiser, though I can easily imagine hating it as an adult.

No plans to test this.

i woke up in the middle of the night fucking gasping for air. like i've never made that horrible gasping sound before. but i had an inhaler right next to me, thank god. fucking heartburn gives me asthma attacks sometimes, but not like this. or it might be that the asthma causes the heartburn but either way, it fucking sucks

and my stomach is fucking killing me.

springing in your bed in panic in the middle of the night is pretty terrifying isn't it.

i stayed at my sister's house recently to watch over her cat, who would randomly start making these insane cat noises and distressing cries, like he's in heat or something (castrated ofc). he woke me up like this one night, and i still remember the primal terror i felt springing up in my bed, gasping for air when he did it, just because when you sleep your systems are all shut down and you're defenseless against any perceived threat (real or not).

i'm kinda used to it :/ from nightmares and stuff. and when i couldnt breath and involuntarily gasped and you could hear how my airway was super constricted, like it's almost a screaming gasp or something. i did it twice and got enough air for it to stop and then i was ok and not too freaked out
