It's fair to say "hey maybe it shouldn't be like this" but I bet if Hillary had been arrested all the BernieBros would have loved it when the DNC nominated Bernie despite him losing the vote

Bernie knew he couldn't win the popular vote but tried to sway the super delegates something to keep in mind

Did the poll include third-party candidates? It seems that the support for Clinton amongst Sanders supporters goes up in polls that do not include third-party candidates.

Third of all, suppose Clinton is lying about being for gay marriage. What are the chances she would attempt to legislate that when she can't even because the Supreme Court ruled laws against it unconstitutional?

Fourth of all, what sort of political boon would Trump get for pretending to be against gay marriage when most Americans support gay marriage?

Your thinking holds no water, which is ironic, as it seems your skull is full of nothing but water.

Reminder that when asked to compare world opinion on Clinton with world opinion on Trump, you responded with this:

Keep in mind that RBG didn't link a particular poll for you to look at, he told you to find one yourself. You refused to do so, because you know that any poll would contradict your assertion.

The rationalization about the polls being "Americanized" made no sense for two reasons. First of all, you failed to explain why the nationality of the pollsters would affect the results. Instead of critiquing methodology, you attempted to dismiss any poll of American origin. Second of all, RBG provided no poll, let alone an American poll, so the comment about "Americanized" polls was a non-sequitur.

Dismissing any evidence before it is even presented for irrelevant reasons is the informal fallacy of poisoning the well.

Do you know what a margin of error is? For any given candidate, there is a four per cent margin of error. That means that in a match-up between any two candidates, there is an eight per cent margin of error.

That means that, if Clinton is leading Trump by three points, some polls will show her leading him by eleven points, while other polls will show Trump leading Clinton by five points.

Last I checked, polls that dial landlines as well as mobile phones, as opposed to just mobile phones, are more likely to show Clinton leading. Polls of likely voters are usually more valid than polls of registered voters or polls of all adults. Polls of likely voters also tend to have a slight bias in favour of Republicans. However, in this election, Clinton is actually doing slightly better in the likely-voters polls than the others.

There is also a post-convention bump in support. The Republicans are just coming off a convention. Of course, that bump is hard to disentangle, because the Democratic Convention is coming in hot off the heels of the Republican one.

In other words, don't just cherry pick polls that flatter your expectations, look at trends.
He's probably going to start thinking about green day or hot dogs or some shit a quarter of the way through this post and then chug a beer and never respond.

Then again, there are already reports that when Trump tried to court Kasich as his Veep, Trump Jr. told Kasich that Kasich would be in charge of a lot of domestic and foreign policy, and Trump's job would be to simply "make America great again."

So if Trump is still planning on letting the VP call the shots, there will pretty much be a president Cruz in Pence. They keep portraying him as some "steady-hand moderate conservative," but he's an extremist Christrian-Right fundie darling, just like Cruz. In fact, some nutjobs are already thinking that his selection as Trump's running mate indicates that Trump has been "chosen by god" to win the election.

Trump isn't seen as terribly religious or pious, but the thing about the Christian Right is that they don't necessarily think that the people they support are "godly," only that god is working through them, and that sometimes god picks flawed sinners to be his vehicles.

I didn't care about Obama, and tbh I still think that he and his party are like this:

You would think that studying creative writing at a tertiary level would help with the trolling, but I guess it probably is open entry.

I am completely serious. If everything the dems do publicly is just for show, at least make it a good show, you know? The world is watching. And man, the Obamas are a hard act to follow.

It's not completely open entry, but you're right, it must have been close, for me to get in. My grades weren't too bad, though, last semester. Two DIs (distinction, 75+) and an HD (high distinction, 85+). My grade average was 82.5 ... so close to an HD average. Hopefully I can bring it up, but I'm taking advanced screenwriting this semester and he marks hard. My final projects for each paper were given 88, 85, and 80...and he gave me an 80.

Still, the screenplay I handed in, I wrote in six days, after abandoning the one I'd been working on all semester, because I couldn't wrangle it into the narrative/character development framework he taught us to use. My final script was called The Slum Girl and was about child trafficking. A bit depressing

The abortion debate is such a measly distraction issue. I mean, yeah it's super important to a very small percentage of society, but it's such a small issue in the thick of things.

Anyone actually watching the shit-show Democratic convention? They have that washed up singer Alicia Keys singing a song called "super-woman" right before Clinton takes the stage LMAO. The absurdity of it all is hilarious.

I'm not saying it isn't important cause I think it is, but let's be honest, it's pretty far down the scale of what needs to be fixed in America right now.

the debt in this country exists because of starve the beast tax cuts. so to fix it, you are going to cut taxes again. oh and also spend billions on a wall to keep out people who are invaluable to our economy

In the very grand scheme of things, It's a small-button issue. I can see you feel very passionately about it and I think it should be legal... but lets not act like it should be the be all end all factor when deciding who to vote for.

I dunno, the number of abortions performed in the U.S. under previous Republican presidents didn't seem to change much, from year to year:

https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Aborti..._United_States

Or is it more about supreme court judges, this time? Because even if Trump elects another conservative, Kennedy only supports abortion restrictions, as opposed to overturning Roe v Wade...?

I'm basing it off of what each candidate is on record as stating before they ran for president. Trumps on record for being pro-abortion consistently for many, many years... But unfortunately his view on that isn't in line with the majority of Americans in his party so for the time being he's dumbing himself down so as to make it not an issue as theres much more important things that he's going to change.

If you don't understand why it's better to portray a dumb stance for the sake of the people during election time as opposed to being on the record for years and years in support of really awful ideas and then trying to "smarten up" then I don't know how to help you.
